How to Nerf Vayne Without Gutting

Remove the interaction for her Q's damage to critically strike. (To clarify for a few people, Q's damage gets added to her AAs after crit amplification is calculated, so when she autos with her Q it can still be a critical strike, but her Q damage itself won't have a crit amplification to boost itself before the Q and AA damage gets combine into the damage to be delt.) A ton of the damage people complain about comes from that 1 interaction. Removing that will make her much more balanced and far less frustrating without destroying her ability to be usable.

Just curious, wouldn't that mean that when she auto attacks somebody after Qing that it'd do less damage then if it were to crit normally without the Q's inability to critically strike?

I had a hard time reading that because it is worded so weird. It would do less damage if it can't crit, so your question is redundant. Correct me if I am wrong.

Basic attack damage and Q damage are 2 different calculations. Crit damage gets added into the total as part of AAs, so there would still be the AA Crit damage + the Q's damage. Less than it is now because both the AA and the Q have crit damage amplifiers atm, more than a solo crit AA because it adds the Q's damage.

Better plan: Remove the bonus AD from her Ult and have it augment her stun and silverbolt procs instead. That way her Ult would improve her tank-busting power without making her damage overwhelming against soft targets.

Vayne's Q is an empowered Auto, just like Nasus' Q, Yorick's Q, etc.

Nasus can still crit when using his, as well as Yorick, this is no new concept. But in the words of Gosu

It's a empowered aa. Why would it not crit? Stop trying to ruin a good champ just because you got curb stomped late game.

You've been bitching about vayne for years and bitch about her "stealth op" yet none of you ever used pink wards in the first place when she ulted.

You are really slow if you don't understand what is being said.

The Auto Attack itself can crit, but the damage from the Q portion does not need to be amplified by crit as well.

Also it's not "ruining a good champion", it's balancing one of their many mistakes.

Let me get this straight, it's not ok for vayne to crit on her q, which she has forever with no nerfs despite all you kids bitching but it's ok for Draven to do 85 soon to be 105% extra damage per auto.

She is balanced deal with it. Why do you think she is so bad early game?
