@Meddler Karma, Karma, Karma . . . . and Enchanters in Mid

> @Riot Meddler As far as champs normally played as support going to mid (or other lanes), those would face the same “Is this healthy?” test. We think it’s great to see an enchanter like Karma there for example, given it allows for interesting play and team comps while having a lane that’s pretty fair and interactive for other players. On the other side of things, though, there have been cases where we’ve seen enchanters go to positions other than support in ways that’s created really negative experiences.

So a champion like Malzahar, Miss Fortune, Velkoz, Annie, Brand, Lablanc, Xerath, Ziggs and other champions being played in Bot Lane is not creating a negative experience for Enchanters and other Support champions? You nerf Enchanters capability to be played in other lanes and rework them to be unoriginal and bland champions, to fit this tiny minded idea that all Supports should be the same. Yet champions like Malzahar, Miss Fortune, Velkoz, Annie, Brand, Lablanc, Xerath, Ziggs and others can come into our lane and clear waves just as good as an ADC, provide better CC and damage than your "tiny minded supports", and offer diversity within their kits.

What do all of the Enchanter Class champions have in common? You have nerfed their damage, the ability to function in a solo lane, gave them all one damage ability, a shield/heal, and ruining identities because you think having a Janna use Tornado to clear waves is toxic. You think having a battlemage Karma with shield bomb is toxic. You think Lulu being played top is toxic. What is so wrong with all of the above, when you have a Ryze, Lablanc, and other Mages being able to clear waves faster and better than any Enchanter ever could. What is so wrong with have an Enchanter going top lane when you have champions like Camile that can stun someone for so long and still do massive amounts of damage. At the expense of a unique champion identity in this game, damage, and being able to actually solo play in a lane, you think Enchanters having more utility in their kit is better. Doing this really makes me wonder if you care at all about champion identities and themes. We can look at a champion like Ekko and wonder . . . hey he is a Mage with a ton of cc and utility in his kit . . . . . then we look at Yasuo . . . . he has a ton of utility in his kit.

Riot Games, you think having Enchanters being able to go into solo lanes is a problem. Maybe the problem really isn't the champions but the mindset that Enchanters need to be a specific thing and only that. Maybe the support role, in general, should be removed at this point and Enchanter champions like Karma, Janna, Lulu and Sona . . . . should function as a champion and not a "tiny minded support" that builds shield/heal enhancing items to be relevant in the game. Maybe some of their utility should be taken away from them so they can provide a fun gaming experience for any match, other than being played as a shield/heal bot. Maybe if you remove some of their utility and actually made them be good at one thing . . . . Karma, Janna, Lulu, and Sona could be played in a solo lane. If it is so hard to balance all of the utility an Enchanter has in their kit for a solo lane, why don't you remove their ability to do so much utility in the first place?

You are being a hypocrite and very ignorant by saying Janna cannot go into Mid lane and use her Q to clear a minion wave, when we have almost the entire Mage roster going into our lane and creating chaos. If you are going to revolve an entire class of champions around one mindset and that they shouldn't be able to function in a solo lane . . . . maybe it is not the champions but you . . . and your work on them. You are being very hypocritical and ignorant with your statement about Enchanters not being able to be played mid. If these champions were so bad and hard to balance in solo lane, maybe you should remove some of their utility and allow the champion to actually function as a champion and not your "tiny minded support" idea. At this point the support class is being taken by everyone. What is the point in having support as a class anymore? You don't seem to care when mid laners are taking up our spots, but we cannot take their spot. You are being very ignorant with your decisions and choices in regards to Enchanters.

KARMA IS NOT A SUPPORT MEDDLER. SHE IS A BATTLEMAGE. HAVE YOU EVER PLAYED THIS CHAMPION? DO YOU CARE ABOUT THIS CHAMPION? RESTORE KARMA AS A BATTLEMAGE AND DO NOT KEEP HER AS A SUPPORT.

As always stay frosty.

"tiny minded supports"

Who are you quoting? Your post has several strawmans and flawed arguments, but at least you got the important thing right: "should function as a champion". Supports DO have tons of overlap. Supports AREN'T allowed in solo lanes, though the reason is because their kits are typically toxic as fuck when they have solo lane power AND support power, as these powers cover a very wide range of nono-areas (such as Lulu clearing your wave, chunking you, and slowing you for infinity while never having an opportunity to engage on her due to her CC and self-peel that cannot be dodged, since these abilities are what let her peel reliably for her adc). However, them being fine with mages crowding out supports means they prefer that sort of interaction in the botlane, so the current supports should be shifted away from supporting and a little more towards the mage-type deal in terms of utility.

I absolutely agree, especially on that last point. That's why I find it so irritating that they screwed midlane Karma by removing her damage focus, in favor of making her play like a regular Enchanter. Seeing all these damage focused mages in bot lane now just rubs salt in the wound tbh.

The problem is people forget that support champions still need to function as champions.
