Just curious what the meta is for it

I think it's: One mage, one jungler and one fighter/tank.

Meta is player created, and it seems to vary. There doesn't seem to be one set strategy, but generally you'll want mixed damage. A mage, preferably some utility, an AD bruiser or fighter, and a tank.

The meta for TT is: don't.

Games tend to end faster, so lane bullies are better than carries; this is compounded by the fact that since there's no support (and therefore no ADC), most of your physical damage is likely coming from a bruiser like Renekton or Darius. Duelist junglers are better than farm junglers since there are so few camps and therefore so much fighting. That's about all I got.

When Treeline's had it's own spot in the forums, seemed like it was 2 fighters and 1 mage.

AP itemization is actually really solid with items like item 3090 item 3170, and you generally want to pick an AP that can abuse those incredibly strong items (as mages were not great when you were limited to Rift itemization).

Juggernauts like Darius are also pretty solid: as they often get a ton of power in bases early, are a pain to counterbuild, and can still build straight tank and OHKO their opponent. Focusing them right away is usually a catch-22 in regards to removing their damage as well, as they can certainly take a lot of hits.

Alternativly: you want to stay away from champions like Kog'Maw that aren't self sufficent and are more late-game, as having 2 less people helping you out makes such a champion extremely easy to kill and very difficult to protect.

LoLking does track winrates of champions in Treelines.

Go to Charts and you've got a lot of sorting options if you want to see what champions are generally doing the best, from normals to ranked and Bronze to Master+

Two main metas: Jungler or Support. Both metas typically bring a Mage bot for utility, waveclear, and sieging.

For Jungler meta, it's often a Bruiser top-lane and Tank jungle. Strength is mid-game gold-efficiency and level advantage.

For Support meta, it's Marksman+Tank/Support top-lane. Strengths are early-game map pressure and late-game scaling.

Check out the Shadow Isles site for more info. It's run by Challenger TT players.
