Who do you main and why?

Just curious who people main and their reasoning behind it...figured it would be fun to share. I only play my mains in ranked...normals I just play whatever I feel like...and of course I have a back up if they get banned.

Top lane I'm maining Gnar. He was the first champion I witnessed release for and kinda just fell in love with him the second I saw him. He was also my first (and only wah) penta kill. I love his kit and I love how his spells are different when he is Mega Gnar. Love jumping in and engaging and slamming things to the wall

Jungle I'm maining Vi. She was my very first jungler and learned to jungle (but not good lmao) on her. Love the engaging type junglers and love locking someone down with my ult.

Karma support main here, Theres just a sense of chill when playing her, sure my fingers get worn out after spamming every ability but she is flexible and always fun to play as, even if countered by basically every other champ XD Karma +summoner 3 summoner 4

Ekko Was my first champion I bought, and login screen I logged into. Been playing him ever since, love his theme and his default look. Just awesome, kinda reminds me of a Kingdom Hearts character and even sounds like one.

His outplay potential is in my opinion the 2nd best in the game after Zed's.

I switch mains a lot, mostly depending on how I'm feeling my gameplay is going and just who I like. I played a lot of ADC this season (Lucian/Caitlyn mostly), then fell in love with the reworked Shen, so been playing more top lane. I'm finding it difficult to switch mentally between being a front-line tank and an ADC who really has to stick in the backline, in addition I'm just a bit frustrated with always having a target on your back no matter what, so I'm going back to mid-lane, where I had a lot of success last season playing Morgana. I still hate laning against assassins, even if I crush them, since they always seem to be able to snowball back into a game, so I think I'm going with top primary and mid secondary, with Shen and Morgana, respectively.

Going into the specific champions: Shen is tanky and has good CC, so he's never really irrelevant, but he doesn't really feel like he has any terrible match-ups; I feel like if I play well enough I can get out of any situation. Additionally, his map presence is so great.

Morgana is a super safe laner, and I really like how she's underestimated since she's mostly played as a support these days, which means you can get a lot of kills you otherwise wouldn't. Similarly, because she has a ton of utility, she's never really irrelevant in a game.

I tend to switch around the champions I play quite a bit. Still, there are a few who I have kept coming back to year after year.

Nasus I am typically not an aggressive player early game and I like to focus on farming. Nasus rewards this playstyle very well and his mid-game in monstrous when you play appropriately. Most of all, I love his lines and voice acting; I find it very calming.

Irelia Her versatility is wonderful since she has tools to help handle most situations and match-ups. I just find that her kit works very well together and feels very smooth to use. Also, I just love spinning my blade above my head whenever I have down-time (i.e. waiting to last hit, getting zoned, dancing with enemy team, etc).

My only real peeve with Irelia is her hair. Her old skin led me to believe that her hair was white, so I was quite disappointed to realise that it was more blue-ish in game. Thankfully, Nightblade Irelia has satisfied that conflict.

Renekton is much more aggressive in his playstyle, but I still enjoy playing him. I enjoy weaving basic attack in between abilities and gradually wearing down my opponent until I can inevitably murder them. It's pretty fun to just ult and watch people run from you as the sand whips around you magnificently.

Udyr lets me get away with crap that few other champions would. There are few things more satisfying that getting surrounded by the enemy team, weaving and tanking through their abilities and CC only to escape from them through their own base. In addition, his builds are versatile enough to adapt to near every situation and he scales quite well with items.

Also, Spirit Guard Udyr is beautiful. While I play near-exclusively Phoenix Stance Udyr, the effects on this skin really make me wish I enjoyed playing Tiger Stance Udyr (those claws are amazing).

My only regret is that I can no longer build Zephyr. You are in a better place now, my old friend.

Varus is one of the only marksmen I truly enjoy (the others being Tristana and Corki). I enjoy his lore and asthetics, but especially enjoy his poke/siege-oriented playstyle. It is especially satisfying to continually chunk down the enemy carries until they are frustrated enough to force an engage, only to have your ultimate lock them down to be eliminated.

Ziggs His voice and lines are hilarious. It really doesn't matter what mood I'm in; listening to him will always make me smile. Also, it is hilarious to toss your ultimate into a fight and know that everyone on the enemy team is watching their doom slowly descend.

Lucian Simply because you don't have to rely on your support as much. He also deals so much damage early it's absurd.

I started league with Anivia as my first champion but she was just so slow compared to some of the starter champs you can use at lvl 1-5. I then started playing Akali as I wanted to play mid lane, I wanted some one moble and I liked the way she looked from her splash art. From then to now I main Ahri for the same reasons as Akali with Akali being my second main.

I used to main Lulu support because she's that good.

I main Bard because I liked being yelled at and failing ultimates.

Seriously though, he has such a unique visual design, sound design, kit, everything! What makes him fun is his sheer oddity in how he looks and plays. That and he's a really good pick right now, but I played him even when everyone thought he was weak.

Just get Thunderlord's and Luden's and watch the magic happen. It's all he needs to turn into a burst mage, even as support.

Depends who I'm against and if I'm first pick. Typically:

Against Yas / Zed and Top lane main: TahmKench Why? you can be a little less safe and not get punished for it. Zed ult and Yas ult aren't killing you unless you're fighting 2v1 and get stunned so you can't shield. If the lane is a bit tougher you can wave clear under turret easily and bait a dive from players and turn it into a double kill.

Typical mid: Lux Wave clear, CC, Burst dmg.

ADC: MissFortune Honestly just a fairly safe pick.. and the double up damage on Q is a killer.

SUP: Alistar Awesome engage and diving capability. Decent peel.

Jung: Udyr (tiger/turtle) not so much now with other champs getting buffs and him getting nerfed.. but if you catch them early you rarely get stopped. Zac Amumu these guys I build diving tank style. Specifically to get the rest of your team fed. You can dive repeatedly and punish the enemy hard.

Mid/ADC: Varus I sometimes take this guy and build him with mixed AP/AD damage. Makes my team worry but if I get to late game I do insane damage. Can catch the enemy off guard and its fun but its super risky.

Janna - I considered her a high skill cap champ. She could make so many plays. I enjoy knowing that I salvaged the teamfights and denied kills.

Akali - High risk, high reward. No skill shots :>. Spell vamp. Sticky.

Bard - He's fun. Chimes are OP.

Shaco is my main, and Rengar used to be, still use him if a pure squishy assassin isn't what my team needs, or if I'm just feeling like Rango. I like both of them because of the skill ceiling.

The reason is because they directly translate my skill into reward. I don't need to rely on outside factors. If I don't do well, it's because I f***ed up. It's not my allies, it's me. That's a rewarding feeling, and gives me a more accurate sense of progress when I eventually built up consistency.

Gnar Gnar is my top lane main. I love his play style and the playfulness he brings to it. I also like his unpredictably in combat with him. The other team has to keep tabs closely on you or you're simply going to slam all of them into a wall. His kit is glorious, in my opinion, you can kite in mini, and then turn around and control the field as mega gnar.

Braum Braum my support main. I love his ability to just absorb damage, and simply act like a walking wall for his entire team. I like being able to jump to a teammate that needs help, and allowing them to be able to escape while you defend them has got to be one of my favorite feelings to do as a support. He also has peel, and can change the field quite easily.
