It doesn't fulfill the fantasy. It provides an insane amount of LS AND SpV. It has very good AD slot and cost efficiency Every other stat about it is mediocre or shit.

If you get down to brass tacks, old WotA had an aura. New WotA had...80 AP, 10 cdr, 20% SpV. Gee, that combo seems familiar, doesn't it? DD is physical WotA. That's it. The passive isn't interactive, and that's supposed to be the selling point.

If the passive is not healthy for the game in any substantial form, then you might as well just remove it from the stat budget and let DD have better slot efficiency

Who are you looking to build it on? Not all champions view items in equal terms to eachother.

I don't know what you mean with 'fantasy'. Isn't the other passive, the one that makes damage dealt to you become a bleed over 3 seconds that fufills the 'fantasy'? It's somewhat of an effective damage reduction if you can lifesteal what was dealt to you. Probably worth more than 5% lifesteal you could get with a item 3072 , depending on the champion.

Also, it gives a good amount of AD and a fair portion of cdr. 15% lifesteal is not insane at all. Lifesteal per se is shit though. You need a lot more damage to make it work.

Overall item 3812 is a good niche item for AD casters that also use autos.

Think Illaoi , Kled , Fiora , Renekton , Khazix , Graves . Hell, even Draven can get away with building it.

It certainly has some hidden power there but the thing is: There are champions that build item 3812 . WotA had Vlad.

Another reason for it not being exceptional on those champions is their main form of damage is aoe. AOE physical damage heals for 33% less. Illaoi might could get away with it due to the sheer amount of physical damage she puts out though
