From a Clarity perspective, how is the PBE Kalista change okay?

"This champion deals less damage on its basic attacks than the attack value says."

Seems off to me.

I don't get why they have to make her passive even longer. Any more changes and it'll read like a novel.

You want her to be more dependent on building AD like other adc's? Change her rend to bonus AD scaling so it's weak if she rushes runaan's for waveclear instead of giving it full AD scaling. The whole autoattack change is just... convoluted.

Now I MAY be slightly baised, but I'd think it would be much better for everyone if they just deleted her and gave an RP refund for what people spent on her. I like my fix more.

Yeah, I'm not seeing why they're okay with this.

They basically just nerfed Kalista's clarity and left everything else alone.

I think Riot's way of being clear is to say "welp, here's a wall of text rivaling war and peace of all the special conditions for every ability."

And I'm just sitting here looking at my main's kit...

Basic attacks deal magic damage over time, slow, and stack up to 3 times.

Q is coded as a melee attack and gives all benefits, plus passive, can crit, and mana and gold on kill.

W is a cleanse with heal.

E is passive movespeed and attack damage. Active is an AOE team boost of both.

R is a global AOE DOT slow field.

I apologize if I sound like the circlejerkers that I complain about on boards all the time, but why the hell is new kits and phrasing so goddamn complicated? I feel like even if the ability doesn't have two passives and special case actives, it's still worded in a really contrived way (I'm looking at you Kalista). Even if the champ got reworked, I still feel that their explanation for abilities is really stilted. It just doesn't sound like a normal human being describing that shit (I'm looking at you Ashe).

They wanted to make a hyper specific change to how she works with early AD without just outright lowering all of her bases and ratios because that would nerf her far more than just lowering all of her autoattack specific damage by a percentage.

Honestly, clarity wise it doesn't really matter. Kalista already does something different with her autoattacks, and its just another thing to learn. Different champions are different and this difference isn't really that much of a burden to have knowledge of.

Just lowering her base damage by 10% wouldn't really do the change they wanted. They wanted to basically do what they did to Yasuo with a reduced crit damage, but have it applied to her entire autoattack regardless of crit. I don't see the problem with this approach tbh.

**Her attack dealing 90% instead of 100% is no different than Ashe's dealing 110%, and it's no different than Teemo's E passive or even the entirety of how Crit works. Besides, your attacks never deal the listed damage because of Penetration and Defense. **

Really, it just seems odd.

Just nerf her base/scaling AD.

Amen. Can we please get a change that people without advanced degrees can understand.

they just need to bite the bullet and delete her. i'm not saying this ironically.

there is no reason this champion should have ever been anything more than a bad idea stuck in the mind of a man blinded by his own ambition.

any attempts at making her kit "work" will always be convoluted because of her design. it's not something that belongs in LoL.

From riots perspective, people that hate on kalista usually focus on her passive and how toxic infinite mobility is.... so in context addeding the nerf to her "passive" makes her passive seem like it has draw backs. In reality though you could just nerf her E which is the most toxic part of her kit (ie out dmging smite because infinite is ok). the only thing is i like playing as a support for kalista players, its alot of fun with all the synergies you can create so idk
