I'm really curious about the story behind the decision to put Kai'sa to 525 range.

This isn't really a thread about Kai'sa's powerlevel or anything; it's more that I'm curious about what made Riot decide to try letting Kai'sa exist at 525 range instead of 500.

At first, Rito seemed very adamant about not increasing her range, and the community really wanted it; and then, almost by surprise (to me, anyways), we got it, along with other substantial buffs. The other buffs were pretty expected, but the range buff definitely was not. It seemed like she was designed with that low range as the cornerstone of her kit, and it seemed pretty integral to her proposed identity as a backline-diving, high-mobility hypercarry -- and her designer made it REALLY sound like it was a non-negotiable thing until the second it wasn't anymore.

I'm curious to hear how that decision happened.
