1995 2017RiP Eva··2 votes·852 views

Keep their own?

Mundo says "Mundo thinks you are a big SISSY! at 2017...i have see people going crazy for even less that this...

Gragas says "Ill drink you under the table SCRUB!

Akali says (i dont really remember the exact one but he call everyone noob)

And riot is like well we can call someone NOOB/SISSY/SCRUB but we cant have someone say to A JUNGLE MONSTER "little shit"

Cool stuff riot...

Let's be honest. You don't actually care about the lore/identity of the character, you just want her to say "shit".

Idc whether it stays or not. It was cringey anyway.

Not true, if it plays to the character then let it stay.

It fits Xayah's personality. She's more or less a teenager after all.

DrCyanide1 votes

How does it fit her personality?

"Teenager" isn't a personality, it's an age. One could argue that teenagers are likely to swear, but then you'd look at adults and realize they're likely to swear too.

Yet 133/134 of the champions don't swear, despite being mostly adults and other more or less teenagers.

With Kled, they created a character that's a crazy war vet who should know the rules of society but either forgets them in the moment or ignores them. Him swearing when the other champions don't emphasizes that part of his character. Adding swearing to other characters effectively de-characterizes Kled, because it takes what was him breaking the rules and makes it common place.

Ok, let me ask you a question.

Why should a line be removed just because another champion says "Sh*t" (intended censoring)?

It shouldn't. It fits her age. It fits her personality.

I mean, considering someone already asked to exclude those specific quotes when the chatfilter is active, it should at least stay for those that don't use the chatfilter.

DrCyanide2 votes

It shouldn't. It fits her age. It fits her personality.

It doesn't fit, which is why it got removed instead of made optional.

Is swearing just a teenager thing? No, you see adults swear too. Yet look at all the other champions and none of them, even the most hardened pirates, swear. Not even the other teenagers swear. To my knowledge, even Rakan, Xayah's closest peer and equally new champion, doesn't swear.

So if other rebellious characters don't swear, and other teenagers don't swear, then why should she swear?

Lauchmelder1 votes

What you're saying is: "Clone soldiers should always be the norm."

I'd rather have some diversity.

DrCyanide1 votes

If the only thing to make Xayah unique was her swearing, she was a failure as a champion.

She's unique as is, the unique argument doesn't fly.

Lauchmelder1 votes

The "it got removed because 'shit'" argument doesn't work either.

You might ask me why it should matter that it got removed.

And I will answer with: "Why did it bother you enough to want it removed?"

Decent PC is great and appreciated, but one can overdo it.

DrCyanide1 votes

Where you're wrong is thinking it was removed for PC reasons. I don't think that was why for a second. I think it was removed for character/consistency reasons, and I've given what I think those reasons are (here and in another thread on the subject, I'm going back and forth too much).

If you're going to argue it should stay, you need to give a reason why those lines add more to her character than they detract from Kled or anyone else who will swear non-casually in the future.

Lauchmelder1 votes

Agree to disagree?

I'm bringing as much valid arguments (to you) up as you're doing it for me.

DrCyanide1 votes

Agree to disagree. There's a decent chance Riot will tell us on Monday why the change was made if enough people are still talking about it then.

1995 2017RiP Eva1 votes

i actually care about the fact that riot tries to confort the 10 year old offended kids that tries to destroy anything new

But when they have champion with worst lines and nobody says anything it mean something dont you think?

Mecha MaIphite3 votes

10 year olds don't get offended by a champion saying "shit". They would probably be the ones giggling over it and trying to make it play again.

And "scrub", "sissy", and "noob" aren't worse by any means.

1995 2017RiP Eva1 votes

so calling someone sissy or noob or scrub is not bad but saying to the jungle monster little shit is bad?

ok from now on i am gonna curse everyone with sissy and noobs and scrubs and if i get banned i want you to come and support me!

ok from now on i am gonna curse everyone with sissy and noobs and scrubs and if i get banned i want you to come and support me!

That argument is terrible.

TyrekGoldenspear2 votes

In what world is saying noob, sissy, or scrub worse than cussing for real?

1995 2017RiP Eva1 votes

go out and say to a guy "you are a big sissy" and then tell him "you little shit"

And see when you will get beaten to death

TyrekGoldenspear1 votes

That all depends on the guy's temperament/personality.

You cannot honestly believe that you can use this as a valid example to prove your point right?

1995 2017RiP Eva1 votes

you pretty much say that saying shit is worst that calling someone sissy.. i dont know you tell me

TyrekGoldenspear1 votes

You're the one that's supposed to come up with a valid counterargument. I'm not supposed to help you, I'd just be arguing with myself then.

TheLastShadow451 votes

You can call me that in IRL and I'll just laugh in your face since petty words don't piss me off. Only certain actions will make me want to beat the shit out of someone.

Shuyin1782 votes

2 things

  1. the "shit" lines didn't fit right
  2. She only said them to the minions, not monsters (I've watched her interactions video)
1995 2017RiP Eva1 votes

so calling someone sissy or noob is fiting but saying to minions little shit dosent?

Explain your logic pls..

BeatzBoyFTW1 votes

That's your own problem tbh. Getting easily triggered like that.

1995 2017RiP Eva1 votes

i actually dont get trigger by nothing that why i want riot to not remove lines because some kids dont want them...

I am one of the few people who want and support voice chat simple because what used on the internet as a curse or insult or in a video game DOSENT NOT EFFECT ME AT ALL...

But people will cry about anything new riot add in the game

I mean those 3 champions have those lines because they are before the whole new age kids start playing this game...

Dancing Foxx1 votes

Glad they removed it. Her lines are tacky enough already.

Irelia Bot1 votes

So many Noobs

Will Matchmaking ever find true balance?

But I think it has to do with calling people shits that got them removed.

So shut up Noob.

Kled

You are advocating for swearing, yet you DIDN'T INCLUDE THE CRAZED YORDLE?

Seriously, he is a gold mine for your argument!
