The LoL Community Self-destruct Button

Preface: the gameplay board has been chosen because the contents of this message directly affect player experiences.

Onward

League players, for the most part, exist to bring each other down, folding in on themselves. The attitude perpetuates itself when nice players are exposed to those toxic knights and smirking trolls, and the frustration turns to anger which backlashes. I was a nice person, once, and then I played this game for two years.

My apologies to those who suffer me, and my curses to those who fuel me.

Most recently? A 4v5 (our side the 4 by means of an unfortunate early jungler disconnection) in which we stood no chance against the ready-to-dive Rengar and able-to-roam polymorph gunner Lulu. My lane opponent, a Lissandra trading evenly with my Tryndy until the gank to end all ganks, gloats and gloats about "winning lane". I explain that, in this 4v5, that no, she did not win her lane, as her team of higher numbers won it for her. Not only does she continue the harassment, but the adc on my team defends what she's saying. "Team". That word means nothing in this community. "Team" means protecting your own. "Team" means encouraging your fellow in arms as you brave challenges. "Team" does not mean tearing your kin down, making claims of "You will always be bronze" to a high-end Silver player who plays only 10 ranked games per season for placement and has more than 3000 matches under his belt.

**QQ post achieved! **

Honestly, though, it should not be considered a "QQ" post. Can we actually acknowledge the social issues in this game instead of brushing them aside? We are all affected by this. Downvote, make dumb jokes, speak snidely to and of me and my post, but the issues are real. Each massive multiplayer game has its culture. Ours happens to be the one that loves to All-Chat "gg ez", refusing to acknowledge efforts made. Refusing to acknowledge that there are real people receiving harsh, negative messages in a game they play to de-stress from their day. I am guilty. You are guilty. The All-Chat feature is guilty.

Why is every other game so much more relaxing to play? Well, your opponents don't have the option of verbally curb-stomping your soul in other games, because the designers of said games are smart enough to not allow opposing forces excessive communication potential. World of Warcraft featured the creation of new languages (well, letter substitutions) to prevent verbal crossfire. Heroes of the Storm allows absolutely nothing in the way of opponents communicating. Both of these games are far more satisfying than League as they cut out half of the trash talk.

Default, shift + enter is the real self-destruct button we face.

So why does Riot never take a page from Blizzard? Why does this community continue to support a means which allows a low potential of positive praise and high potential of shaming? At this stage, it shouldn't be my best option to mute my entire team and opposing team, relying solely on pings as communication and later being reported for "refusing to communicate".

Can we not do away with opponent trash talk, the entirety of the All Chat feature, so we can focus on being civil to our teammates? That is a hard enough challenge in itself without adding 3-5 players who are already hostile against you.

This is the one and only thing I can think of to save this community. I don't want to be embarrassed to say I play League. I don't want to have headaches from playing a game I enjoy. If people are the problem, cut the problem in half. That's all I have to say, now unleash your divine cruelty upon me if it somehow makes you feel better.

tl;dr Get rid of /All, it's bad for us
