Whenever I play top, if I'm vs an Aatrox, I'm practically guaranteed to lose lane. I dodge his Q's and try to go in while the CD is down, but I still end up losing the trade or dying outright. Is there something I'm missing, or am I actually just complete garbage at this game lmfao.
The first question - is he running conqueror? If he is. then it's not your fault because the keystone is broken. Just buy executioners. If not, you're just bad lmao
This heavily depends on what you're playing, what level youre fighting at and the gold difference between you two. Aatriox pretty routinely gets bodied by champions that can get directly on top of him and have the durability to trade blows with him. Kled is ideal at this because he does both of that and has grievous wounds built into his kit. Fiora also does excellently because it forces aatrox to reduce his own damage or die to your parry. Volibear and rengar are off meta top laners that also body him quite handily.
depends what your playing mostly, and how good the aatrox is. if you dodge all his Q's and his W slow/pull then all he can really do is auto but take care that he does have a mega heal auto that also deals a decent ammount of dmg with a CD that gets reduced by hitting large monsters/enemey champs, along with his E dash that can follow you or reset his auto. its also good to remeber that Aatrox generally take E lvl2 for the life steal on champion hits so he will have that going for him. The best way to beat him is to go for some early armour like tabis and executioners to cut all his damage and healing away, the rest of it is dodging the Q sweet spots and getting in short trades before aatrox gets into a extended fight with you where he can life steal and even the trade out.
Pick a right clicker top laner and use attack move at point blank. Care if he umbrella dashes backwards.
