So tanks got less hp and got weaker items, while adcs got tankier. ok

Adcs are literally tanks now with all the scaling of tabi cleaver + death dancer + lifesteals while tanks are getting melted like shit and being focused easily.

tabi - recently nerfed. cleaver - nerfed specifically for ADC reasons and was made more apealing towards tanks death dancer + lifesteals - this is nothing really new. Life steal has been a thing for a very long time. DD got a buff, but it still is one of the most expensive AD item in the game and does not work well on all ADCs as a starting item, not even a second or third item some times.

Tanks though got a lot of armor items buffed so that they offer more armor. Maybe add in a item 3075 or a item 3143 or even item 3193 to your tank build.

He's talking about this item item 3036. You left out one of the closing bracket.

Sun Wu Ryuumoku2 votes

Its nothing new... at least for Vayne Twitch, tank never tanked them

JavelinJoe2 votes

Vayne and Twitch are kind of meant to kill tanks pretty quickly... Caitlyn's been really strong for a while now. And Draven is Draven, or in other words, a crap ton of damage as long as he has his Q going.

If say Sivir Varus or Ezreal were deleting tanks you might have a point, since they are not known for or picked for their tank killing abilities. But they are currently not deleting tanks.

item 3036 no shit this item is popular on ADCs. IT IS MEANT TO BE. It is their main anti-armor item for tanks. And it was recently nerfed too.

In addition, item 3109 .

The item might have been designed for support tanks, but it works really well on ALL teamfighting tanks, as it gives them in-combat sustain and helps them protect their damage dealer. The sustain effect is essentially giving them the benefit of 12% Lifesteal - but unlike offensively build squishies, tanks have the resistances to amplify the health regeneration.

Literally not

meowwow73 votes

yeah it seems like if you don't build a item 3193 you die almost instantly if you don't try to cc anything

AL0002 votes

item 3193 is absolutely garbage and waste....

THEREFORE... don't be stupid to get caught at middle of the team so easily.

meowwow72 votes

what if you're the engage such as Nautilus because that is a need on him

AL0001 votes

Seriously? You don't need to dive into team... Wu Kong could do better.... much better.

meowwow71 votes

i want to still be useful after my ult goes off in a team fight

AL0001 votes

Be useful if your team and you are put some efforts into your engage.

item 3193 is not useful item period... except maybe for Chogath...

meowwow73 votes

item 3193 Nautilus with some hp items turns into an indestructible cc machine

Sun Wu Ryuumoku1 votes

Wukong won't build item 3193 for begin... and he isn't the one to engage.

AL0001 votes

No i don't say that MonkeyKing needs it... he can just destroy the team **without **item 3193 than useless Nautilus + item 3193

MonkeyKing > Nautilus

meowwow73 votes

well ofc you are comparing 2 different classes wu's a diver so ofc he won't be able to use that because he relies on bursting a squishy in a clumped up team so if you take out 60% of his damage well then he's going to fail but put it on a class that doesn't rely on damage and you get a monster

Sun Wu Ryuumoku2 votes

MonkeyKing's a bad pick. In which world would u wan't a Wukong in ur team ? Btw Wu & Nautilus don't do the same job.

Stoneplate is fuckin amazing, even for tank supp.

item 2045 item 3109 item 3107 item 3193 item 3190 = HUGE fuckin AoE shield (2200 bonus hp without factoring in the double from base health) + you CANNOT get taken down easy.

AL0001 votes

who focus on the supporter at first place.. ;\

I mean if you already active that item... nobody touches you until you are last person or almost dead. I pity your enemies that you played against.

GodJormungandr1 votes

u do 0 damage with that build, who the hell is going to focus u? go ahead dive the whole team they'll ignore u and kill ur team

ModAcademy Kayn1 votes

That's not a Dive Build, unless diving with allies. It's a Peel-shield build for protecting allies.

RenownedWheat424 votes

It's not MEANT to be a damage build. And good luck ignoring the big ass tank face checking every skill shot you have and tossing your whole team around.

People act like it's so easy to ignore the tank, but it's not.

r4ndomkill1 votes

yes because we all know the braum is missing out on so much damage with that build

GodJormungandr1 votes

i like gargoyle yes i do build it but i can't use the active because it's extremely useless, rather than trying to deal more damage to the enemy adc and kill him i deal 60% reduced damage they would heal from me all they want, it's definitely most useless active in the game.

ADC becoming tank is bs thing. At my elo they're squishy af. I doubt its different for your.

Terozu2 votes

Thornmails is getting buffed to apply Grievous wounds, that should help the "3 lifesteal items" problem. Thank Riot for actually listening for once.

ZT Xperimentor1 votes

Too bad they're doing it multiple patches AFTER the tank update! It's spiteful and blatant favoritism man.

Ralanr2 votes

It's something.

ZT Xperimentor1 votes

Too little too late, it's something that's been requested for years, and only made painfully more obvious with the tank 'update'.

Terozu1 votes

Well to be fair, for so long now it's been ADC in 2017, they needed buffs too, with this it should let tanks be tanks and adcs be adcs.

ZT Xperimentor1 votes

Not so much when marksmen can still draintank everything in their vicinity. I remember when marksmen actually had to be careful about positioning.

ModAcademy Kayn2 votes

I'd like to see an ADC take a full Mage combo, both champions fully built.

crzymdscntst2 votes

Feasible on some champs: item 3047 More for AD defense. item 3812 30% of dps is focused into 3-second bleed, delayed dps. (70% immediate burst.) Basically lifesteal/spellvamp for ADCs. item 3072 Pre-shield (50-350), 20% lifesteal item 3156 MR and shield when dropping below 30% health. 20AD, +10% lifesteal and spellvamp for shield duration item 3139 Rare, but CC cleanse, MR and 10% lifesteal. item 3026 More AD defense.

1k nuke reduced based on MR, lets say 50% at 100 MR, assuming no magic pen. That's already not good. 70% of THAT dps goes through immediately for say 350.... and whoops, there's the Bloodthirster Shield.

We're saying full build though, so I mean, in theory, you have a lot of other moving parts, magic pen, etc, but the breakdown of this single spell already puts you at a disadvantage of not even getting through the first shield. That's not okay in the longer run of things I think. You have essentially 45% lifesteal on auto-attacks for the ADC to recharge that shield or the damage that gets through. If you pop the shield on Maw, that jumps to 55%. There is 15% spellvamp on AD spells, which jumps to 25% when Maw triggers. And then you finally off them only for GA to trigger. BAM. Wasn't that fun, do it again, Lifeline from Maw should still be up.

Raw stats: (Not counting base stats) +315 AD +60 Armor +80 MR

Health is a bit iffy with this build, but supposing standard itemization, you'll probably see Black Cleaver instead of Mercurial Scimitar. (+400 HP, -35 MR) If you try to CC Them, they have a cleanse though, so that compensates a bit for any lockdown you can try to use.

JackMcSnipeyz3 votes

You forgot to mention this adc also has 0 bonus attack speed and 0 crit chance, making him useless. Yea, you can maybe (and it is a BIG maybe) combo of a mage, but then what? you're a adc with 0 attack speed 0 crit and anyone could duel you except tanks.

No, adcs cant tank, they also dont "drain tank", yea, they can sustain, but they dont drain tank.

ModAcademy Kayn2 votes

I mean, if they built that, they're choosing survivability over DPS. They have nowhere the amount of DPS a normal ADC build would bring. If they're building to survive burst, why shouldn't they be able to? It comes with trade offs though, with lack of AS and Crit, and Armor Pen.

crzymdscntst1 votes

To be fair, you can just alter this entire build. "Oh look, the Mage is the threat, lets skip the armor items." And then compensating with Phantom Dancer for dps reduction against target, in the singular would be effective.

With a support factored in, Ardent Censer, Knight's Vow, and Mikael's Crucible put in more factors of durability, sustain and dps reduction. Mercurial Scimitar isn't necessary if your support can Crucible you to freedom. The ballgame changes as the whole team is factored in, so yeah, feasibly building survivability nets survivability, but as the dps choices will inevitably forgo the defensive for offensive.

But given the theoretical, "ADC takes a full mage salvo", it's easy enough to say that mages are SUPPOSED TO, by design, full salvo someone down. Yet Maw, Phantom Dancer and Death's Dance? That's some pretty good survivability for the dps you get.

ModAcademy Kayn3 votes

Mages are meant to salvo someone down, but if some builds not to salvo'd down, it's no surprise when they aren't bursted.

I'd also argue if you play a mage right, they wouldn't let an ADC auto them for the Damage reduction before they could land their stun/combo set up.

Bronze/silver the ADCS get one shotted so I think this is good for them but not so sure in Diamond+
