Can we make DFT sum up it's numbers?

Cherysse··36 votes·1,956 views

DFT deals damage each 0.50 seconds, it makes it's damage look low, even if it is. This suggestion is just about the display.

Sum up it's numbers means that the damage will display itself in the same way in which Darius Bleed and other DoT's work.

It will allow us to know how much damage it is actually dealing to a target and it will feel more rewarding for the user for constantly reapplying it.

Now that you mentioned it, what is the total damage of this keystone?

Cherysse3 votes

Base damage is 8, plus 60% of your AD plus 25% AP, divide that in 8 procs of 0.50 per second and it looks low AF, also it deals magic damage so for AD champs this is an unfair mastery.

1 + 7.25% AD / 3,12% AP

Maple Crusader2 votes

{quoted} 3,12% AP

That's supposed to be 3.12%, right?

That's supposed to be 3.12%, right?

What else could it be?

Axis the Dragon1 votes

3,12 could imply a number of things, including the fact that it might've been a typo for 3/12

Dunno man, just tryna find reasons

25%/8 = 3,12%

8, cause you have 8 ticks of DFT and we wanna know how much 1 tick of DFT deals dmg

Axis the Dragon1 votes

I know how he got 3.12, that wasn't the issue lmao

Since no one else is being the slightest bit helpful.... The U.S. uses periods for decimal places, but a lot of other countries use the comma. Alternatively he/she hit the comma by accident, since it's right next to the period and looks similar enough to be unnoticed at first.

That's the most likely case, indeed

Yeah it's hard to see it do anything at all without numbers popping up. I had a botlane that was freaking out enemy caitlyn killed them "Even when she didn't shoot" and they "Got out with 5 life" because they didn't know DFT even existed, I had to say it in chat 5 times before they realized what I was talking about.

Axis the Dragon1 votes

In his defense, though, why DFT on Cait? xD

Cherysse1 votes

xD it is not that, it is that some people don't even know what that is xD

I still feel it needs buff and balance, it is meant to be an hybrid mastery but only works on AP properly and in AD it looses too much efficiency because you don't build magic pen :s

Axis the Dragon1 votes

Meh, it's largely iffy on most AP as well since most of them are burst-oriented, since only certain DoT mages work well with DFT (Rumble, Malz and Brand come to mind) - with some outliers like Anivia who can go either DFT or TLD, to be sure. I will admit though that the only AD I see DFT working well on is Jhin, and that's because his AD is so damn high

Cherysse2 votes

+800 AD on Jhin, Id better buy item 3020

Hey man, if it works for Corki... ;D

its DFT, it isnt doing any real dmg anyways. you need 16 ticks of dft in order to deal half the damage thunderlords deals.

qetzel1 votes

But you deal it to multiple champions much more easily and with no cooldown beyond your ability cooldown. It makes sense that the you need a lot of ticks. Maybe you need too many, but you would expect a lower damage output per champion from DFT when comparing it to Thunderlord's.

Only Jhin, brand/karthus should get it since they can keep it applied on an entire enemy team constantly and safely within a time period.

Everyone else is better of with TLD because the damage window for DFT togo anywhere close to TLD you'd need 600 AD/1200 AP for single target spells or 300 AD/600 AP with 2 singe target spells/4 AoE spells.

DoT does somewhat matter but unless you can apply it to an entire enemy team it's just not worth taking DFT over TLD especially since riot went dumb and decided to buff TLD so it goes under 20 seconds CD.

katarina?

EcchiOtakuTM1 votes

I honestly thought kat should DFT too due to spammable Q

If anything I wouldn't discourage trying it on kat since she's the only champ I havn't gotten to compare DFT vs TLD on.

Most of the other DFT users can reliably proc TLD and don't have to stay in combat long enough or have high enough stats for DFT. And brand's special since he will mostly be able to keep it applied on an entire team.

Dunkrius2g1 votes

If only they can do this. e.g.

Darius Passive: 10 (30) physical damage over 5 seconds which can stack 5 times. (200) total damage

Do the same for DFT. Add total damage to both how much when it is single target and when it isnt.

And then people would figure out how much it sucks.

I'm okay with how it is now, but it would be nice to have the display numbers be a little bigger.
