So I just played against a Gangplank

I see enemy picked Gangplank top, so naturally I think a good early game champion that can constantly all-in him should be the perfect choice as a counter.

I take xin zhao, the king of early game duels. I even take ignite to amplify the kill pressure.

Anyway, game progresses and my lee sin ganks the gangplank, I get first blood. Pretty nice! Everything's going smoothly for now.

Immediately after coming back, I get ganked by the enemy nidalee, giving away a kill to her, but in return my lee sin counterganks shortly after while she still stayed in the lane and gets a kill netting me 150 gold for the assist. Sick!

I come back to lane, both me and gp are lv5.

My items : cutlass His items: ruby crystal, long sword, boots and a flask

At this point I'm 1-1-1 and he's 0-1-1

My ignite is up.

He has his barrel on top of him but I figure it won't do a lot of damage since it's early game, and his passive is down.

We both have around 3 creeps alive. We are both level 5. So I think to myself, now it's the perfect time to all in him!

I initiate with E, press W and Q (Allllllllllllllllllll the buttons), he pops his barrel and ...

Just destroys me in a 1v1.

I just die.

Like that...

I even ignited his W heal.

I don't understand how they could give a borderline underpowered champion buffs to ALL OF HIS SKILLS and call that a "rework".

Basically, imagine the old GP , he was trash-tier, right? But not a complete waste of champion. Now imagine buffing every single one of his aspects and giving him another zoning tool (besides his Q).

I don't understand what happened to weak early game champs such as Jax, Vlad, Yi, Tryndamere (okay, the last one could cheese you but he was still weak early).

Now we have a champion that has no weak point in the game, scales insanely hard, AND to top it all off he has global pressence with his ulti.

Season 5 truly is the worst season I've ever played in (playing since s1), and I just wish that riot would man up and go :

"Okay, we admit, we fucked up." - And revert ALL these shitty reworks.

Sorry for the long post, just wanted to put out my thoughts as a long time top lane player.

http://www.mememaker.net/static/images/templates/15789.jpg You do know if he kills a barrel he gets his passive back right?

Moral of the story? Don't dive GP when he has barrels right on top of him and know you can't kill them. That's like diving a Teemo when you know he's sitting his ass right on top of a mushroom. Also ranged champs generally counter him harder than 'all in' early game champs.

Also also...Riot's already said they're gonna nerf him...so...

Also, also, also? XinZhao king of early game duels? Isn't that Renekton's title?

Gangplank and Teemo are completely two different champions.

The fact that you're comparing a Teemo (bully that only has his laning phase going for him) with GP (late game power house who has access to global pressence past 6) is a testament at how OP gangplank truly is.

Not to mention you are comparing teemo's ulti to a gp's regular ability.

I'm not comparing them as champions, just you diving on top of one when an obvious trap set right there. You just don't dive on top of a trap unless you have a serious advantage. GP is OP, but your situation there was just you getting outplayed/diving when you shouldn't have/making a bad move.

Also if you wanna pick bones about it. Teemo= global pressure|GP= global pressure (ultimates) Teemo= 1v1 ad/melee dueling power|GP 1v1 ad/melee dueling power (teemo- blind, gp- ranged AA despite being melee) Teemo= escape power|GP= escape power (Move Quick/oranges) Teemo= traps with an ammo count that take 3 hits to kill|GP= traps with an ammo count that take 3 hits to kill

I mean they're practically the same champ. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-fmtsrIkeHJU/AAAAAAAAAAI/AAAAAAAAAB0/3PedtnvfOqo/photo.jpg

Xin Zhao beasts on Renekton in a 1v1 early, mid, or late game (especially if he doesn't have Rage).

Xin Zhao can't trade for shit in lane though, and if he tried to duel him he would eat a lot of minion aggro, before Renekton easily W, Q'd, and E'd, holding him in place while minions kill him.

Anyway, yeah, Gangplank obviously played better and deserved the kill. It was basically handed to him, to be honest.

So, because you thought it was sweet and Gang had to plank that ass, you mad at Riot?

So you basically thought "Hey, I can just ignore everything GP has. I can simply press all my spells+ignite and he is dead no matter what" Guess what? It does not work this way. Unless you are playing Fiora/Darius/Garen. And Xin is not really great toplaner, he is 10x better as a jungler. If you want to counter GP while staying away from that 3 champs-try Gnar

No offense, but Xin Zhao is probably one of the biggest counters to GP. He can't cleanse your knockup, and barrels wont save him when you nuclear missile towards him at the speed of sound.

And you do know destroying a barrel refreshes his passive, right?

Gangplank has a lot of zone control and burst but he has lackluster sustained damage early and mid game and can't really duel other top laners like Trundle, Xin, or Renekton. He's more about setting up long chains of barrels to decimate waves and scale into lategame with his bonus gold and Silver Serpent upgrades.

See this is classic crap people complain about. GP sets trap, u go into a trap, he obviously outplayed you... You come on forum and complain about champion... Cant you just admit that he was better than you?
