Would taking things like inspiration on a champion like Zed set you behind?
Spellbook would be fun but I'm not sure if he needs the ad bonus or not

I feel it'd be best to compliment his strengths. For example, when I play Jayce, I use dominance to strengthen the power of my already strong laning phase. Not only that but I use the resolve tree to increase his base health and get demolish to assist in his already fast tower sieging skills. Demolish scales on max HP so the two masteries go hand in hand. Not only that but I build Trinity force so I melt towers.
