Targeted abilities that should be dodgeable, based on Rek'sai's ult:

DOUBLE TAPPED E··28 votes·11,003 views

The flavor of these abilities is that the champions are dashing or leaping to the target. They should not be able to change direction in mid-air, or have the effects follow the target if they are out of melee range when it lands.

Evelynn E Hecarim E Jax Q Pantheon W Poppy E Rengar Passive Talon Q Warwick Q MonkeyKing E XinZhao E Yasuo E

These are all targeted abilities that move the champion using them to or beyond their target, and deal damage when they reach the target. If the target flashes while the champion is in the middle of the dash, but before they make contact, the effect and damage should be negated, similar to what happens if you flash just as RekSai comes out of the ground with her ultimate.

Rek'sai's ult requires setup and... well it's her ULTIMATE ability. If it can be dodged, surely BASIC abilities that are simply point-and-click, require no setup, and in some cases come paired with a CC effect, should be.

Flashing while Warwick is dashing towards you with his Q (but before he makes contact) should NOT teleport him to your location. He is not a magical ninja, he is a wolf pouncing on his prey.

Ahahaha, OK I suppose we can make an exception. You know... for the meme.

Fizz q is dodgeable by blinks or speedsters like Jhin

DOUBLE TAPPED E1 votes

And it does no damage if you avoid it that way? Or does the damage go through but Fizz is no longer in range to follow up?

Zed genius6 votes

You dodge the damage

Usually people say they want Flash to be LESS mandatory as a spell, not more.

DOUBLE TAPPED E6 votes

Flash is not the only blink in the game.

One major feature of Warwicks Q is to be able to follow enemy movement with it to stick to them. Making it dodgable would seem a bit odd in this case...

And Warwick needs that feature imo. He doesn't have as much in combat mobility as other divers to stick to his target.

DOUBLE TAPPED E1 votes

Fair enough, but it still makes no sense.

Kazekiba4 votes

He literally attaches to the victim, his jaw is locked onto your body. That's the flavor.

WeAreTheRatClan1 votes

Wait how much MS does he get chasing damage targets? And you're saying he needs help sticking to people...

Oof...

LeBlanc Rose1 votes

Yes, because everyone starts fights at half health.

Chembaron Yamada2 votes

He just gets the movement speed if he is out of combat. So this is no in fight mobility. This is just mobility that helps him go into the fight, but when he is already in the fight, the movementspeed is gone and he could get kited quite easily without his Q.

Oof guy says in combat mobility you go on about Warwick out of combat boost which which isnt "sticking power". Also any damage ability or spell will stop his w passive movespeed.

Poppy’s E is dodge able actually. Though it requires timing.

DOUBLE TAPPED E2 votes

I've flashed behind Poppy as she dashed towards me with her E, and I still get moved, but it's as though she's pulling me along behind her with some magical force, and not slamming into me and shoving me in front of her.

Ralanr3 votes

I’ve had numerous people dodging poppy E. Hell, I’ve seen Fizz do it without his troll pole.

It’s generally down to ability lag.

DOUBLE TAPPED E1 votes

I don't doubt it's possible, and I believe you've seen it, but I haven't.

Ralanr1 votes

Its rare I’ll admit. The timing and situations have to be right because it’s abusing something not intended.

DOUBLE TAPPED E2 votes

Would you say it's easy enough to do to be worth trying? (I.e.: worth flashing if you know that she can kill you if she lands her stun?)

Ralanr1 votes

If you’re trying to survive, it’s rarely not worth this risk of trying.

DOUBLE TAPPED E1 votes

Fair enough ^^

Poppy player here. E is dodgeable, and pretty easy. Dont flash toward Poppy, but away from the wall you are about to get stunned by, and away from Poppy. (Flash when Poppy already started the dash.)

Im fairly sure thats how it works, never really thought about it in depth. But lets say Poppy is ganking and she starts her dash to stun on the wall, you just flash toward the direction you are running away.

AXayahAccount1 votes

You touched her model. You can't flash into her model so flashing BEHIND her will touch the back of her model. You can flash away from her model and you wont be hit. For example flash backwards, you'll be fine. You can also use any other type of blink/dash. As someone who plays Poppy support you can notice it most vs Ezreal because of essence flux.

Stillname1 votes

If you go toward her it still hits you if you go away you dodge it.

The fight is not as intense as the title would let you believe but the interaction I am talking about is at around 40s in. This works with any dash or flash.

Your dash just has to make it past the point where she stops her charge but if you go sideways and slightly toward her it still hits you.

Stuff like Hec's E, Rengo's passive, and (I think) Eve's E is that those are all empowered Autos and are coded as such. Only way to dodge an auto is to become untargetable, which is not the same as moving from the spot.

Warwick's Q is specifically stated that it follows you so it doesn't make sense that you would be able to dodge it.

Everyone else I don't have an answer for

the fact u even have anyone agreeing with you i find disgraceful

i used to LOVE to play RekSai , she is the champ who changed my main role from mid to jungle.

and i absolutely hate with a passion how the completely ruined everything about her that i loved.

in the process they made her ultimate a complete fucking joke... a point and click ability that can miss... on an ultimate.

it was absolutely disgraceful.

no other champion in the game... even if i hate them dserved to be gutted and ruined in the way RekSai was.

this thread is disgusting.. the the people up-voting it are disgusting

the counterplay isnt to "dodge the point and click ability" ther counterplay it to be alive after the point and click ability

like seriously does no NO ONE remember dodge Jax

i mean its need like 3 patches since Jax was the most oppressive champion in the game because of his E.

have people already forgotten how toxic that kind of thing is to deal with.

auto attacks and point and click abilities should not be dodge-able. ( obvious if it makes an aoe like a lux E or Pyke /Leona ulti thats different from a single target point and click) like RekSai ulti is

that's is behind stupid.. and i will not support any other champ.. not even TahmKench Shaco have to deal with that shit

Salron3 votes

Yasuo E doesnt deal damage if you flash out of it

Automated Riven2 votes

yes it does...

Salron3 votes

I mained Yasuo from release to season 7 I know for a fact that it doesn't deal damage when flashed out of However Riot recently rescripted his E when Odyssey came out so if it is dealing damage when flashed out of, then that's only a recent thing

MyPowerSPyke3 votes

I disagree with Warwick 's Q. That ability is literally meant for you to stick onto your target. Even holding it down lets you follow them if they try to dash away.

IP Masquerena2 votes

You forgot Evelynn's Demon Shade E, as it also pulls her to her target.

But it's funny, as it should be the other way around, that you can dodge basic abilities by dashing/flashing at the right time and now Rek'sai's ult, not the other way around XD

DOUBLE TAPPED E2 votes

Does it? I'll be honest here, Eve is one of the champions I haven't checked out ;) since her rework. I'll add her to the list.

IP Masquerena1 votes

Yes, and you should mention that it's the Shaded E, not basic E. Basic E is just a normal hit, Empowered E deals more damage and drags her.

Tahminatrix 2 votes

Doesn't eve`s tentacle attach to her target and pull her to said target though. It seems to make sense in a way.

kargish2 votes

In defense of Rengar, his leap is a basic attack that merely gained range and causes him to move to a specific location. It's not a targeted ability and isn't coded like one.

No, because several of them are designed to chase after you.

It is why people hate it. It i an ult ability that requires set up but is rather easily dodged.

Flashing while Warwick is dashing towards you with his Q (but before he makes contact) should NOT teleport him to your location. He is not a magical ninja, he is a wolf pouncing on his prey.

It should let him cjase your flash vecause that is how it was intended to function.

FUN FACTS :

you can actually dodge graves auto you can also dodge twitch's ult by flashing out of the way

Paroe2 votes

@thread To be honest, "semi-skill shots" should include all projectiles. including ranged basic attacks. Ranged basic attacks should be both interceptable by all AND dodgeable.

Auz the Ripper1 votes

The reason rek’sai’s ult is dodgable is that the damaging part is a fixed length targeted dash Riot has decided all fixed length targeted dashes should be be dodge-able This includes Fizz‘s Q Alistar‘s knock back and Yasuo’s dash Idk why

DorkunedAuras1 votes

Cow W and Rek'Sai R are not fixed length dashes. Their length varies in order to reach the target. Fizz and Yasuo are valid though.

Auz the Ripper1 votes

The damaging part of rek'sai's ult is a fixed length dash in front of and behind the target calculated during the untargetable part. Ali's W is a fixed length set when you press the button. It's a dumb way to code them and I'm part of the "if I can't aim why can you dodge?" Group so I'm not happy about it but that's the way it is

Monstermushmush1 votes

Or... make Rek'sai's ult undodgeable... nvm, I can already sense the downvotes.

Sex Crazed Eve1 votes

Eve's already been dumped on the past two patches. no more pls

Shablagoo1 votes

Rengars passive is a auto attack range increase, not an ability.

deadlychuck1 votes

Well Pantheon is kind of the opposite, where instead of dodging it, you can interrupt it. So long as he doesn't land, he doesn't stun. Either via a knock up or displacement.

Zerenza1 votes

Evelynn is odd, her E functions similarly to Warwick Q but it requires better timing, basically she'll follow you even if you blink or dash so long as she used her E at the same time or so long as her little lasher's are on your champion.

However based on my experience with Evelynn her E can be dodged but it's extremely difficult, you basically have to preemptively flash before her Lasher's make contact with you, dashes will not work. I don't think it works the same with Warwick Q because it's meant to be easier to land the ability, but i could understand letting the player flash at the start of the animation and having warwick fail his Q, very good timing is required on both player's part and forcing out flash is definitely worth it in my opinion.

Edit: They attempted to show the Evelynn+Blink interaction in her release trailer but kind of failed so it's a little known interaction(as i said the timing for evelynn to follow you is pretty precise)

ChaddyFantome1 votes

Talon Q, no. Its like Lee Sin Q. Its not a straight linear dash and doesn't behave like one. Same with Warwick. his whole thing about ti is how it is literally build to follow you.

pretty sure Yasuo E is already dodge-able.
