Why can't Shen cancel his ult. . ?

People keep saying that these are all magical characters with great powers.

If Shen is one of the world's greatest shadow warriors, then surely he can use his great powers to move his legs, instead of transporting his body across the map, if he wants to.

Other players can cancel teleportation abilities, so there's no weird lore about teleportation locking your body into the astral plane. . .

If any champion, can study teleportation, and use that knowledge to start teleporting, and then decide to stop it; then surely Shen, who has trained to have an intrinsic teleportation ability, should also be able to stop teleporting, if he wants to.

Probably so his enemy laner feels like it's worth trying to stop Shen from ultying, because if Shen could stop his ult at any given time trying to stop his ult would be like "No point anyways because he probably only used it for the shield"

cause it holds already most of his power. If haveing to commit to it allows a bit counterplay, as you for shure know that he's going to be around the shielded target and you can try to force things else where on the map, like if jungler is around top, he can joint the laner for either herald or toptower. This tradeoff on his ult frees up some power for the rest of his kit.

If he could just aid his team with the shield without comitting but staying in lane, it would become really hard to play vs a good shen.

If it was just a TP yes.

Since it isn't, nope.

I think if that were possible, people would use it just for the global shield even when they had no intention of teleporting at all, and I'm not sure that would be a good thing.
