The New Player Experience: All I See is Smurfs

And that's exactly how it should be. Because I am a smurf, So when I won every game until lvl 6, my MMR skyrocketed, and the only people who have MMR that high are smurfs.

I don't think that the new player experience is good, but I do think that when we see these Boards posts complaining about how it's terrible because of smurfs, we need to consider just who is experiencing a lot of smurfs.

######As an amusing side note, games on my smurf, lvl 12, are possibly more intense than on my main. More variable, but also more tryhard.

No I've gotten several friends into League, and watched them play, not play with them. They ran into a considerable amount of smurfs. Granted a lot of them were like, "I'm a silver 5 smurf scrub!", so they weren't Diamond smurfs or anything, but a Silver 5 player playing with people who are just starting out is going to make a considerable impact on the game. They are generally so rude too on top of sucking all the fun and learning experience out of the match.

I think champion and rune costs are a bigger deal, but smurfs are definitely part of the problem.

Yeah. My smurf is so I can have a "champ X only" account. I wish I didn't have to do the leveling process.

I felt pretty bad at first, so I only played super mechanically intensive champs that I suck at (eg, draven) and didn't really try. But then there was a game where my own team was annoyed that I wasn't really trying, and I was like, "meh, can't win". Now that I'm facing mostly smurfs, I feel significantly less bad :)

Sion is not a support, that's kind of an important concept to learn before you claim to be a smurf.

  1. Playing off-meta stuff has nothing to do with smurfing.

  2. Spoken like someone who's never played Sion support. As someone who has Sion as his 2nd most played champ recently, I think he's strongest jungle and support. He's also pretty good as a red side top, if you can do the lvl 1 execute on the enemy's blue buff.

When I first started League I don't think it was fair that I not only had to play with people who have been playing for 1 year +, but also got harassed by them and my teammates for not knowing what in the hell I was doing. I think Riot should make it so people can have free level 30 accounts but not smurfs. I mean c'mon if you're that bad on your main account to not play with your own elo then that's just sad. I almost quit because people harassed me so much. Even my brothers friends harassed me (he's the one who showed me League). It's hilarious how now I'm a much higher rank then them.

Yeah, I love trying to win a ranked game when the other team has a Diamond smurf top or bot that goes 40/2 and no matter how great I play I can't win that game.
