Am I the only one worried Riot ll ruin champions With assassin update?

Poske··3 votes·1,827 views

Just to help give you guys a better idea of the pool of champions we're talking about, here's a list of Assassins we are currently considering as candidates:** Akali, ekko, evelynn, fizz, kassadin, katarina, kha zix, Le blanc, Rengar, Shaco, talon, Zed, **

Share your thoughts ** I ll share my thoughts on each of them Wall of text prepare ** Akali - Akali is outdated clunky (since they removed q>e combo) and does deserve rework. Its sad that item 2043 item 3364 ruin her As long as those 2 items ruin her as an assassin completly she ll never be full assassin. So I am just warning riot about that

Ekko- Ekko is fluid cool and really well made champion. As long as he cannot ulti while he is cced he ll never be played as an assassin. The whole reason people stack so much defense on him is because his ulti INDIRECTLY scales with defense stats. The more Armor and ressist you have the more your ulti is worth (effective hp). Not to mention that tank ekko can actually ulti before dying.

I remember a game where I acidently took cleanse. Cleanse literally won me last teamfight. I did around 9k damage with ekko in a teamfight that should have been lost. Anyway If they make it so that Ekko R removes all cc on cast they can force him in assassin role with other small tweaks while having tank ekko still playable. I am pretty sure that some people dont want their tank ekko to go. **Another possiblity is balancing tank ekko with AD **

Evelynn- Main question Did Riot give up on an idea of a perma stealth champion? If they gave up on that idea Every single Eve main ll be pissed of. Eve is early game assassin and lategame bruiser (Due to r) I am pretty sure eve mains want to keep it that way. She has always been a really strategic champion. I am sure there are ways where she can stay perma stealth champion

What if evelynn is revealed globally as long as she attacks? Of course she could receive some cool buffs then What if evelynn gets revealed globally once every 40 seconds if she is attacking **Basicly Ocassionally you would see her on some camp **

Fizz- Does he really need rework? Its rare to have an assassin who cant really fall of. I understand that he can be annoying. I also feel that he is as tricky as it can be

Kassadin- Assassin which cannot be shutdown by majority of mages who scales into strongest hypercarry in the game. I never liked how simplistic kassadin is but there are people who play him for literally that reason. I would never design so boring champion but since he is in league for like 5-6 years and already had couple of reworks I doubt they can do much with him.

Katarina- Penta machine, Noob stomper but hasnt seen any lcs play. I dont want this champion to be changed. She is even viable in high elo if played correctly. Katarina already had a rework and it was massive success. Why are you reworking her? I think her design is perfect

kha zix- I am still sad taht he cant do both W And q in air. Release kha zix was way cooler (Yes he was op) and yes they did try to make him cool again with aerial w buts lets face it none throws W from the air. Kha zix players mainly do W>E>Hydra>q>Aa > whatever. I just wish he can throw his spikes from air again

And as for evolutions. It is clear that we ll never see diversity. Just make him gain evolutions and certain levels rather then when he (Level ups ultimate). Nerf him but make him have 1 more evolve. I am sure Kha zix ll adapt

** Le blanc**- Right of the bat I am Biased about le bl. She is my favorite league of legends champion and how couldnt she be. She has one of the deepest mastery curves in game, she has 30 ** core** combos (Dont feel like listing) but 4 abilities. Thats impressive I consider her the best designed champion in the game. She always brings variety and can always adapt

Le bl is also really vulnerable. ATM her kit is in perfect harmony Any minor change could completly ruin her

if she is OP nerf her Mimic distortion dmg by a bit If she is UP reduce her chain cooldown

If le bl gets a kit change she ll be ruined. It doesnt even matter how good the change sound on paper or whatever she ll be ruined period. You guys dont even how insanely good design she has ATM. Dont fk up what aint broken else she ll really become LE BROKEN

Rengar - You already tried to reworked him into bruiser. Thing with rengar is his ultimate just screams assassinate. Rengar is unique champion because of his ultimate. If rengar rework changes the Ultimate > Delete gameplay Every single Rengar main ll be mad as fk because thats what rengar was about since ever.

You could buff him and in exchange increase the range of !!!!!!!!!!!!! and possible make him a bit less bursty? But you already tried to make him less bursty and it didnt work

Shaco - Shaco has a dedicated playerbase. He is a perfect snowflake to them There are definetly interesting stuff Riot can try. They could try making AP shaco support viable pick by fixing some W (Deathfire touch , lyandri) interactions and making some of his stuff Give back portion of mana if used on a champion. He could be a flex pick in compettetive play Ap support / ad jungler

A champion kit who can offer 2 different playstyles if tweaked correctly is A GOOD CHAMPION DESIGN..

I dont see Shaco as an assassin anways. he is way more successful with On hit bruiser build.

I am really afraid that whatever riot ll do will ruin him. All of his spells are his identity. You can nerf his q Stealth duration without making every single shaco main pissed of. You cant remove his Insane jack in the box starts. If Riot wants him to be more tricky thats fine I am all up for that Just dont nerf his already tricky parts

Talon I was talon main when this guy was released. The satisfaction of him ulting multiple Ulti blades on 1 target was insane. I literaly remember oneshoting people with just E>R. In my opinion he could use a rework.

I would like him to be moved in a direction of AD aoe Assassin mage rather Then blow up 1 target and run. His kit screams that he should be an Aoe assassin and we dont have those. Also he is way to easy to play and lacks tricks atm

Zed I used to be a zed main. And then they changed the position Of his ultimate shadow. I ABSOLUTELY HATE THAT CHANGE. Release zed was way better champion in terms of fun and coolness

Zed has large playerbase but I do think he could use tweeks because he used to be a better champion in my eyes. Some people think zed is perfect atm but that is because they didnt master the zed before that change. Zed can be even better but knowing riot they wont revert his ultimate changes etc and they ll mostlikely fk up with him. He is to toxic to play against if you are playing certain skillshot mages

**it would be cool If riot reverted any fail assassin rework else they could easly lose some players if they fk up **

this update is brought upon a bunch of people crying for assassins to be nerfed

anyone who thinks this assassin update will make any of them good are dumb unless riot is stupid and manages to fail at weakening assassins.

Eh my fav part of rengar is his passive. From the bush jump, ferocity and bonetooth. I'm not looking forward to his rework by any means, but if his E isn't a clunky pos, I mite have something to look forward to assuming they don't ruin everything else.

Tbh yeah. Look what they did to Annie. They made her even more frustrating to fight

Akali - they mentioned giving her a small pass because she's likely to get a VGU in the nest few years. They said no dramatic changes for her. Also, having the Pink Ward and Red Trinkets screw her over isn't a bad thing. Everyone needs counters, and if you're forcing your opponents to sacrifice visibility (waste a pink, give up yellow trinket) so they can better combat you, your overall team will benefit.

Ekko - he is not a well made champion. Whoever designed him lost their absolute mind when they thought making an assassin with loads of mobility was healthy for the game. He's gotten repeatedly nerfed since his release less than a year ago. Your recommendation to have him self cleanse on ulting would make him absurdly broken. He needs a lot of tuning to be healthy for the game without being an invalid.

Evelynn - same principle as Akali, she's super high on their list for a VGU, her name has been tossed around a lot by Rioters on the board in reference to next year's VGUs. They've said in this update that she'll get mild fixes, but nothing dramatic. And for the record, Riot has stated that her permanent stealth is an utterly broken mechanic that cannot be balanced around in a manner that keeps her viable as an assassin. When she has high damage potential, she's an utter monstrosity and a nightmare. When they nerf her, she's barely above water and is dumpstered by almost every other champ. She cannot hope to ever have high damage output coupled with permanent stealth, it makes the game incredibly unhealthy and thus the mechanic will have to be removed if she is to be the assassin they want her to be.

Fizz - he definitely needs a rework. Playful Trickster is an utterly BS skill that frustrates everyone not playing him. Furthermore, Seasoned Trident has so much absurd hidden power that it needs to be gutted. It has base damage, burst, DOT, and magic on hit when active. It is the poster child for overloaded powers.

Kassadin - he needs a few tweaks, and he can be good. The nerf to his warp range years back put him in line, and some more minor tweaking will get him in a good place - so long as they leave his warp as it is.

Katarina - you may like her, but the fact that she is a "noob stomping penta machine" is the problem. She deals a lot of up front damage and has very little counters outside of lucky skill shots. Not even MR dampens her damage that much. Plus, ward hopping is a bogus BS mechanic that needs to be eradicated.

Kha'zix - aerial Q is the exact reason why the assassins are being updated. Casting Q mid flight means you get the burst from that as well as the bonus damage from the passive. This is why the combo doesn't exist. It doesn't allow for reaction time.

LeBlanc - she's not the best designed champion in the game, and is an affront to balance. Her safety is off the charts and despite her mastery curve, a strong LB player is untouchable. When a champ is untouchable, that's a huge problem for game health. She definitely needs a lot of work if she intends to keep her mechanics as they are.

Rengar- definitely needs another overhaul. He's like Ryze in that they can never get him right, which means the problem lies in one of the "core elements" of his champion design that they refuse to alter.

Shaco - he's weird, but he could use a tiny bit of quality work.

Talon - they fixed his issues by removing his silence. He may get minor work.

Zed - he's an utter mess who relies on mechanics that are near impossible to balance around if he wants to remain viable. He needs a major rework to be less frustrating to play against - if only they'd have the nerve to actually alter him.

anti stealth wards trinkets are the reason she isnt viable in high elo. I really dont think its completly healthy how those wards and trinkets completly destroy 3 champions (Shaco akali teemo) and those champions didnt even get buffed once we had red trinket introduced

I have plent of games on ekko And playing as him and both against him is interesting. Thera are assassins with more mobility. My recommendation to have him self cleanse on ulting is the only way I see Ekko assassin being viable pick. It is an assassin rework and this is 1 of the ways how to make him an assassin. I actually think that tank ekko is really overated atm. Nerfs were quite huge

Evelynn - same principle as Akali, she's super high on their list for a VGU, her name has been tossed around a lot by Rioters on the board in reference to next year's VGUs. I saw Riot saying that they think perma stealth is not heathy. If eve will no longer be perma stealth champion its better they dont touch her else we ll see so many eve threads

Fizz e will never be changed its what makes fizz fizz.

Kassadin - he needs a few tweaks, and he can be good. The nerf to his warp range years back put him in line, and some more minor tweaking will get him in a good place - so long as they leave his warp as it is.

You dont think he is good atm? Champion sees some lcs play and I do see him from time to time I think he is in balanced state. Dont get me wrong I never play kassadin And I wouldnt mind him getting even massive rework but that would be selfish of me

You did not just say that ward hopping needs to be eradicated. If riot ever does such thing it will be one of the worst changes. Katarina is not the easiest champion to master (Despite what people think) she is pretty much noob stomping penta machine if you are smurfing. As someone who have seen what script katarina can do this champion really does not have limits

Kha'zix - aerial Q is the exact reason why the assassins are being updated. Casting Q mid flight means you get the burst from that as well as the bonus damage from the passive. This is why the combo doesn't exist. It doesn't allow for reaction time.

I dont agree with the whole theory of assassins not deleting fast. This is a godamn strategy game at its core if you are squishy near assassin you are dead. Only thing i Feel is bullshit when rengar deletes you in 0.2 sec when coming out of stealth. Major problem with ad assassins is the fact that beside zhonya (Which is good on 30% mid champions) there is really nothing carries can buy

Oh gosh completly disagree. If you were le bl player you would understand. Le bl kit on paper looks safe but guess what. In order to carry games with le bl You have to constantly risk and dash inside enemy teams. You have to abuse the fact that she is safe which kinda means playing super agressive. If you dash inside enemies and get cced you die. And if you dont play le bl hyper agressive with confidence you are not good le bl. She is also not that difficult to gank if a midlaner can bait her w ( Which is not hard to do). I am completly dissapointed that they decided that le bl needs a rework. It just shows me that this company has no idea what champions are already good designed and yet insanely fragile to be ruined with reckless changes

Rengar- definitely needs another overhaul. He's like Ryze in that they can never get him right, which means the problem lies in one of the "core elements" of his champion design that they refuse to alter.

I agree sadly that core is what rengar players like. This 1 ll be messy

Shaco - he's weird, but he could use a tiny bit of quality work.

Yes he could use minor changes. As I said i wish ap support shaco were viable because if shaco were a flex pick i am sure he would see some lcs play

Talon - they fixed his issues by removing his silence. He may get minor work.

Talon has other issues.. kinda named zed. There is no reason to pick talon over zed. Thats why I want talon to have meh kill potentional on single target but insane aoe damage. IDK his kit just screams intense mechanics which lead to big aoe damage

Zed - he's an utter mess who relies on mechanics that are near impossible to balance around if he wants to remain viable. He needs a major rework to be less frustrating to play against - if only they'd have the nerve to actually alter him.

Main problem with zed is his speed Imo. Everything he does is to fast

Katarina is countered by tanks and crowd control, not skillshots.

Uh. yeah I am gonna have to call you out on this claim of being a Talon main. His ult never actually did that. Riot coded it to be an AOE ring but they misrepresented it as doing that damage per blade. Hitting one person with multiple blades only deals one instance of damage when going out and when going back in. If it did do that damage per blade you could actually one shot one shot most champions with E + R which would have been broken as hell.

Are you sure? Release talon dmg was insane then beacuse it legit looked that I could hit multiple blades on 1 target

They pretty much ruined most of the mages who were reworked. Vel-koz, Brand, Anivia...all can deal a lot of damage but their laning is non existant now due to the brutal damage nerfs Riot forgot to talk about. That is why Viktor and Leblanc are the most playd mid laners..you need the burst...not the damgae over time.

Not at all. They will make them broken beyond repair and 3 months later they will roll back the mangled corpse (that was up or OP) to the same gutter. Mordekaiser Skarner
