Why does riot avoid nerfing ekko's passvie but think his Q is the problem
they always do this with problem champions
they always do this with problem champions
This.
This so hard.
They they'll neuter his passive and leave his Q trashed.
Eh it is fine. Almost every skill in his kit has been whined about, so SOMETHING has to get nerfed eventually.
Really don't understand why they nerfed his Q damage... it had a .2 ratio going out, why did they need to nerf THAT of all things? if you had 500 ap, it did 100 extra damage... that's not exactly good. His base abilities were NEVER THE PROBLEM. It's the massive damage and MS steal on his passive combined with his ult that makes him do stupid amounts of damage. Nerfing the only poke and waveclear he has is kind of silly. Especially when you consider that he has the worst waveclear of any assassin. Sure, talon's isn't that great, but since he's AD he can easily pick up tiamat and destroy waves.
Instead, they leave the 1.3 ap ratio on his ult damage. Like, really? I would rather see the damage completely removed from his ult, while reducing the cooldown by a lot. Now, buff the ratios on his Q and E. Reduce the delay on his W but nerf the stun time to 1-1.5 seconds and the shield amount slightly. Now he's a lot more reliable without the "oh my god what just happened to my hp" factor.
I don't even think he's that strong anymore. Now that people know how to play against him, it's very difficult to land your ult on them since they avoid the ghost. That being said, no AoE instant cast nuke should have a 1.3 AP ratio on it. In the cases where you can get it off (like if your team has AoE disables), it's completely broken.
Ekko is one of those champs that is obscenely powerful when everything goes right, but it's easy to make sure that things go wrong. As with Yasuo, however, if you have the right team, he can cause serious problems. Compare that with champs like Annie, where everything will always go the same way... stun nuke nuke nuke.
