Pleep's Official Guide to Escaping Low Elo. (HARDCORE information no BS)

After 2 seasons and countless hours of rage and frustration I have finally gotten decent at this game. This guide is for people who are tired hearing the same old advice about warding, having a positive attitude bla bla bla. Im going to tell you the cold hard facts about how to finally get out of bronze/silver and into gold and beyond. What makes me qualified to give advice? I've been in your shoes, i'm fresh out of silver and i'm not some disconnected diamond player whos advice doesn't make sense to the average low elo player.

First some math.

A average player in the elo he/she belongs in is only able to win 50% of their games. 50% of lol games are un-winnable no matter what you do and 50% will be won even if you play badly, keeping you in the same elo. The only way to break this rule is If you don't belong in your elo.

Your win-rate shows how many "unwinnable" games you were able to win AKA carry.

  • 53% win-rate = someone who wins 3% of the unwinnable games

  • 60% win-rate = someone who wins 10% of the unwinnable games etc.

So next time you are in one of those matches where everylane is feeding, remember that those are the"unwinnable" games you HAVE to CARRY to rank up. If you only win when your team is good and lose every time your team is bad you will have a 50% win rate and never go anywhere.

BRONZE:

The lowest of low elo. Players in bronze are stuck here because they are surrounded by bad players, no one is punishing their mistakes and advice from higher elo players is out of touch with the reality of low elo. Even when a bronze player does do well their teammates stupidity and cluelessness often prevents them from winning games. There is a specific play-style you must master to win bronze, it doesn't necessarily work in other elos. I call it RAMBO

Your champion pool must be easy and faceroll. Do not play support. Do not play jungle.. and do not play ADC. You must depend on your allies for nothing and expect them to feed.

Fizz top Riven top Akali mid Talon mid Katarina mid Nidalee and the queen Annie

You must play champions that can get the level 4 kill, (if u want detailed info on how to achieve this ask me) and after this you will 1 shot your lane opponent in a single rotation every time they return to lane.

This is the formula on Annie

  1. Passively farm lvls 1-2
  2. Lvl 3 begin harassing immensely with Q, and AUTO ATTACKS. It doesnt matter if you miss some CS, everytime they get in range hit them with something
  3. (if you lane is pushed you can back and buy an early dmg item) Hover your mouse over your opponent and check their HP, harass them to the point where your full combo will 100-0 them.
  4. Flash into them and: auto+ Q stun +W + Ignite+ autos until dead.

Once you have achieved the lvl 4 kill in bronze with the champions i have listed the game is practically won if you capitalize correctly. If possible push out the lane until you get a lvl advantage and back. Because you got the extra exp from the wave your opponent missed you will hit lvl 6 before them and can proceed to 1 shot them the second you get ult.

With Talon the lvl 6 combo is E, AA, Q, W, R, Tiamat. This will 100-0 a midlaner with no extra armor or health Long combo: For midlaners that rushed item 3191 or item 3010 : E, AA, Q, W AA, R( wait full 2.5 secs for Q CD) AA, QQ, Tiamat.

Once you have achieved the lvl 6 kill you must begin to push the lane and roam, don't take the tower. Buy mobis if you need too. The key is to shit on the other lanes so hard that your teammates don't even get a chance to feed. Roaming will also demoralize the enemy and make them rage. You must be like rambo, everywhere and once going ham and shitting on everyone. When you are in lane 1 shot your laner push the lane and go. If you can achieve the lvl 4 and lvl 6 kills every game in bronze your win-rate will jump to around 75%.

There is much much more i would like to share about winning low elo, but i dont want to make this thread too long. Who knows if anyone is even gonna read it? But if i helped at least one player get out of the nightmare of super elo than its worth imo. GL HF and if u have any question ask away.

I liked your 3% and 10% winnable game allusion.

You are in gold. That is still low elo.

Im talking about getting out of low elo (bronze and silver) gold is mid elo, top 25%. And i think gold is the most reliable place to look for tips on how to get out of silver and bronze because we have done it recently.

What a challenger player says about bronze is not helpful imo.

Oh my, the infallible logic. My skepticism has dwindled significantly. Waiting for a silver post now.

Gold is top 25 - 30 percentile. It's just above average, the C+ or B- of Elo. It's not low Elo.

I really need to learn to carry like im decently good but my teams are always the scum of the barrel type. Like i just played a game where i got a quadra and a penta but my team refused to protect me and the enemies focused me in every team fight after the penta and they coudlnt do anything without me but they didnt protect me. Its so fustrating.

Thats why i suggest not playing ADC (or immobile mids that aren't faceroll) until you get to at least high silver. They are just a way too team dependant role and once u get fed everyone will focus you.

You cant expect peel in low elo, which is why you should typically be playing assassins.

Yea ahris pretty mobile and can outplay anyone that dives her.

She can also get lvl 4 and 6 kills and snowball early

Pvt Yong Tai2 votes

I would be careful about calling this cold hard fact.

What OP has said contains the truth: you can get out of Bronze/Silver by playing snowball carries.

But then again, you can get out of bronze by playing just about anything. Of course, when I say that, I only mean COLLECTIVELY as an entire player base, players can get out of bronze with anything.

So what am I saying? What's my point?

This guide is not the cold hard way to get out of Bronze. The key to getting out of bronze is to develop a strategy and understand it fully in order to bring out its optimal effects.

It doesn't matter what champion your strategy uses, nor what position you start in, AS LONG AS you understand your strategy as your own.
Ever wonder how enemy players in mirror match-ups always seem to wreck your face? It's highly likely that they've developed a personal strategy that works far better than your personal strategy. If you tend to win mirror match-ups, then congratulations, your personal strategy is likely superior to others'.

That same reason is why I try not to hand my beginner LoL students any champion guides, especially if it's written by a pro. That pro has written the guide with his own personal strategy in mind, and it won't matter if a beginner builds the same build, or uses the same runes and masteries. If the player cannot adopt the personal strategy used in the guide or worse, cannot figure out what the personal strategy behind the guide is even supposed to be, then the guide is worthless.

This guide written here by Pleep is a guide designed with a lane-dominance-oriented personal strategy, for example. Any player that does not have the mechanical skill to overpower another opponent during the laning phase will not be able to adopt the personal strategy behind this guide, and therefore will not be able to make use this guide, at least until they practice and bring their skill level up.

At the same time, I play (and often win with) Support Sion. I even made a tutorial about it. However, even if you went to check it out, if you don't understand how to play the role--when to do what and how to go about doing it--then you will do terribly. Support Sion works for me because I know what it is that I want to accomplish by playing him (as a support).

Now, just as Pleep has developed his own personal strategy, and I've developed mine, you as a player need to develop YOURS. Developing a personal strategy, as the name implies, is a rather personal process as it must take into account what you as a player are good at or enjoy doing. Adopting someone else's personal strategy is not impossible (not at all), but it will be difficult for someone without extensive knowledge of the game.

I suggest using Pleep's guide as an example, not necessarily to attempt to adopt the personal strategy but rather to see what kind of things you should think about when creating your own. Notice how Pleep has carefully chosen his champion line-up as well as the positions they are to be played, along with how to go about playing them. He hasn't posted his build, but obviously your build should reflect the type of plays you are going to be making. An Annie player that will be trading blows often might want to invest in a Rod of Ages, whereas a Flash-Assassin type Annie player might just want to build straight damage and focus some extra effort into not getting caught out or bursted down suddenly.

Well, hope I helped.

Well said. It varies based on your playstyle and the champion you choose. I like playing Quinn top, not because I get the lvl 4 and lvl 6 kills he talks about (though sometimes I do) ... but rather because I blind and harass melee opponents so they are extremely underfarmed compared to me in lane, and late-game Quinn is very capable of split-pushing and either escaping or turning on enemies who come stop her.

Honestly, my bigger problem is that it's very difficult in yolo queue to reliably get the champion you want. Good luck getting mid Annie every game, or top Quinn. You either have to have a very flexible champion preference (Nidalee or Kayle, for example, can go in any lane) or call a spot that few solo queue players dare touch-- support.

After 2 seasons and countless hours of rage and frustration I have finally gotten good at this game.

I think that's the first mistake people make when trying to climb. Thinking that they're good at the game. That's how the Plat meta was born.

On topic, hard to take a "guide" seriously when there's no mention of objectives or split pushing.

So here's the actual secret:

  • You are not good at the game so you should pick a champion that isn't mechanically demanding (i.e.: Annie).
  • Your teammates are also not great at the game, so you should pick something that is easy to follow up (i.e.: Tibbers).
  • If you're not terrible at pushing buttons, maybe you should start learning how to use Teleport.
  • On the flip side, if your mechanics are mediocre but your TPs are on point, stop playing Riven.
  • Spam pings, if you get a pick, frantically ping the nearest objective until your ADC walks away from Red Buff/Razorbreaks.
  • Abuse Greater Stealth Totem and spread the word as if it was a new religion.

Alternatively you can disregard everything and simply pick support Janna to Diamond. Seems to be working for everyone but me.

splitpushing doesn't work in bronze unless you are really far behind and your get that 1 out of 100 teams that will cooperate.

and im pretty sure bronze players know about objectives.

Sailor Mint1 votes

Wraiths Razorbeaks aren't objectives. And honestly, it feels like nobody below Gold knows that there's more to the game than laning and getting kills.

Either way, you missed the most important part of the post.** Acknowledging that you're not good at the game and taking appropriate measures.** i.e.: If you're terrible at pushing buttons but aren't that bad at understanding the map, you can get to Diamond as support just microing teammates.

Yes, some people would rather know about the few things they're doing right. But still, the most important part is understanding what you're bad at. And there's no shortage of weaknesses to point out at all levels.

I hardly ever even ward in Gold.... to date i have never upgraded a trinket since they came out or bought a single pink in my league career. The only thing i use wards for is baron and dragon.

good warding isn't gunna get someone out of bronze imo.... or atleast its not 100% neccesary.

Hey dude do you think lb can do faceroll like kat and akali and all them?

YES. even better than those two because she has kill pressure at lvl 3. The only problem i have with her is that she is kinda difficult to play compared to the others and she is single target.

champs like katarina and talon and annie can faceroll entire teams with their aeo while lb has to kill ppl 1 at a time
