Everyone putting on their rose-tinted goggles again. Ranged tops dominated, Jayce and Diana were in every single game and were disgustingly OP, and many of the shitty champions of today were still shitty back then.

Also, supporting was a torture. At that time, there was no trinket, and there were oracles. If your team was behind, the other team's support just had to get an Oracle, and you can say bye bye to all wards. Also, you got flamed if you did not keep 5 wards on the map at all times. Having to buy 2 gp10 items just to be able to keep buying wards and oracles.

I remember when in competitive, most supports would only get boots + sightstone. Personally, I really enjoy Season 5 because of how well Riot has balanced the supporting role & how you can actually afford many items; now, with the buffed yellow trinket, keeping the map fully warded is a lot easier.

I do remember supporting sucked. But it meant that those of us who mained support were actually appreciated. And keeping the map fully warded is impossible now, since i can only place 4 wards max, instead of the 5-6 I'd like to have to keep an eye on the bot half of the map. (Lane bush, Blue Tri, Drag pit, Ramp bush, Purple-side Blue bush, and behind dragon pit.)

While there are definitely some issues in this season, our current problems aren't on the same level of severity as the ones in previous seasons. On one hand, full tanks aren't really viable now, but on the other we had an entire season where a single class of champions (bruisers) became so overpowered with a single build (the Metagolem) that they could literally do everything every other class specialized in better than those champions themselves. We no longer have the old Sion , who had one of the most toxic kits in the game, and we're no longer in a state where the only items supports are allowed to build are gold per 10 items and an inventory full of item 2043 . As much as there's still tons of stuff that needs improvement, League as a game has become progressively better.

Teemos shrooms used to be on a 0.8 ratio with 600 base damage at one point. He was so strong that he litterally did not have to teamfight because his shrooms would end up turning teamfights around in seconds.

Hecarims ult used to have both charge damage and impact damage, and his W used to proc true damage from the lizard elder.

... oh and it used to heal him of 30% damage and have a shorter cd ROFL rito pls!

Yep and it was never 1 shotting people, unless he was like 8 levels above everyone else. 1k AP (which he would never have) would make his ult 1400 dmg, before MR.

...your point? It did 200 more damage at max rank. That doesn't single handily change the fundamental playstyle or feel of a champ.

And I probably wouldn't try to act high and mighty "knowing what I'm talking about" when you said AP Lucian was ever a thing. That was nerfed within 2 weeks BEFORE HE WAS RELEASED.

Because i'm a Season 2 Veteran, i remember when Mordekaiser still an "immovable object". i remember when Garen 's W and E is such a plague for the top lane, i remember when everyone fight each other during Champion's pick for top lane Darius , i remember when Sivir pushes minion's waves like a fckin hurricane, i remember when Ezreal is a mid lane Champ, i remember when "FORCE OF NATURE" can make Malphite like an angry bulldozer, well there are a lot of things i remember about this AMAZING game.

Season 3 was my first season actively playing with fully understanding of the game (I was there since Season 1 but I couldn't play and I could just watch games on streaming). And I miss it. I remember when some pro said that Diana was the best champion in the game. I remember Master Yi full AP. When they buffed LeBlanc's R because she was considered useless. When everybody was complaining about Darius. When you could actually play a classic mage without being stomped by a free-mobility champion. When Yasuo did not existed. When I enjoyed playing DFG-full-AP-Malphite. When people considered "broken mids" to Lux and Yi AP instead of Zed and Zed. When Nautilus was considered god-tier jungler...

I wonder if we'll see Nautilus being god-tier again.

Really, I compare competitive playing from Season 1/2 to Season 2015 and I want to cry D:

thats what someone called the dota ballance i didnt pla dota much, but they guy said that in dota every champion has his way of becoming op, so in the end the game is about interaction beetwen champions who have insanely diferent ways of fighting and compeeting into the game while in lol champions do the same things so the one who gets ahead does everything better than his lane opponent

Let's take a look at Kassadin. Kassadin's core identity and huge strength is his R. People complain about Kassadin being OP What does RIOT do? Nerf his R. What does DotA do? Buff his R and nerf the rest of his kit. What does RIOT achieve? Homogenize the game and make every champion feel the same when they are played. What does DotA achieve? A roster of heroes that are ridiculously strong on their own field but no one is really "better" since every hero has his own hyper-strength. And yes, it's true that there are heroes that are played more in DotA2 too, but that's just because the community tends to feel more comfortable with these heroes' mechanics, and they aren't played "as much more than the rest" than Top-tier League's champions. Almost every hero in DotA has still a niche in competitive playing.

Don't get me wrong, I like League and it's still the game I play the most by far, but I have to admit that I like DotA's balance policy much more.
