Thresh is a ranged champion. If you ever play Thresh support and get Relic Shield item 3302 then you know it can be disadvantageous. However, being a ranged champion gives Thresh an advantage as well. You can play him ADC.

note to Riot: Do NOT change Thresh because of this "breaking Meta" nonsense

Here's the game I just played. If you don't want to click the link, I'll share the build info. I got an S- performance. Woot!

Thresh ADC Thresh

advantages: Passive gives him bonus Armor and Ability Power, so you can build straight Attack Damage and Attack Speed.

disadvantages: Shorter range than META ADC champions- however Thresh has some gap-closing tools in his kit to make up for some of that.

shocker: Thresh has great damage output, the passive of his Flay gives the first strike additional oomph. Now, this makes good use of Deadman's Plate- but for this build we're thinking ADC. This means we start Doran's Blade.

Full Item Build (In Order of Priority) item 3085 item 3091 item 3006 item 3072 item 3124 item 3147 Now- Despite Runaan's Hurricane being your first complete item- you want to get B.F.Sword on your first recall. This will give Thresh heavier poke, and better farming ability. By the time you've completed building Wit's End, you should see a shocking surprise. Thresh gets nasty. He gets sadistic like Veigar told him to. The Attack Speed buff overwhelms his animation, and 2 bolts being fired from Runaan's is just too funny. When you start your Lifesteal, you can officially solo dragon.

Now- For shits and giggles- and hence my note to Riot. Thresh can solo Baron. Yes. You heard me right. Are you at full build? Do you have extra cash? Well sell the boots- because you're about to get stupid. item 3031

Yup. Now Thresh has some mega crit chances. If you substitute Infinity Edge for Berserker's Greaves and you have 150 souls or more- you can solo baron. Here is the link to my custom game, where I tested this build, and I solod Baron. You will notice- it's 1v1 on Summoner's Rift. I'm the only person on my team, and we have a Baron. And I am a Thresh. And they said it can't be done.

Abilities and Order (passive- Damnation): Thresh harvest souls for bonus Armor and Ability Power. Eventually, each soul equal to just less than 1 Armor and Ability Power. It might be an even 2/3: at ~150 souls you will have ~100 bonus Armor and Ability Power. This makes Thresh a natural support, tank and utility. But it makes ADC Thresh a threat against squishy ADC champs in 1v1 exchanges.

(Q- Death Sentence): Absolutely necessary for all Thresh gameplay. It is a great tool for engaging, and closes the gap on those long-ranged ADC champs. Also, it is a great escaping tool- I don't see enough Thresh players hooking enemies behind them, or jungle creeps to make a quick escape over the wall. It can be done people. Same goes for you Leona players- two tanks with great disengage.. use it.

  • For ADC Thresh we get Q at level 2, and max it secondly

(W- Dark Passage): Dark Passage is an amazing tool. But- the first thing you must do is communicate how you use it. Are you just harvesting souls? Using it as a peel? Using it to engage? Using it for the shield? ADC thresh will use it in every way. You will find yourself using it as a peel for your support uite a bit- so let them know they're safe with the throw of a lantern.

  • For ADC Thresh we don't get W until level 4, and we max it last as always.

(E- Flay): The bread and butter of ADC Thresh. Flay is a great tool for positioning enemy minions for a nice hook from your Q. If enemy minions block the way- flay them away. It's also a great tool to use in combination with your Q, after you pull them in-rake them up. This is great for closing gaps- but the real treat is the passive. If Thresh doesn't attack for a time, he winds up his chains- and the first attack he lands deals extra damage which scales off his Ability Power. Thresh gets more AP with his souls, and from that Rageblade you should really consider.

  • For ADC Thresh we get E immediately, and immediately after getting our Q we put another point into E.

(Ultimate- The Box): Thresh summons a pentagon that slows and damages enemies travelling through it. The Box is awesome. By itself- it's easy to avoid, because it's centered around Thresh. But when you have an enemy nearby, you can quickly zone them into your comfort level. Try to use The Box as an engaging tool. Most of the time it's easiest to hook onto an enemy, then put up The Box, and Flay them into one of the sides. But, if you can get behind your enemy ADC- then get on top of them and Ult. THEN you can use Flay, then your Death Sentence- or vice versa, to smack them into more walls. This tool is perfect for ADC Thresh. Thresh's biggest weakness ADC is range- so if you can get the enemy ADC close enough to get them inside The Box, you've got them close enough for a favorable exchange. They won't want to leave, and you can slap them into the back walls to ensure they don't have an escape through the front. (Slap them towards your towers, that way they still have walls in the way of safety.)

And that's Thresh ADC. Try it out sometime!

Seriously do it. It's fun. Especially watching him go nuts with his AA going off stupid fast. Because he throws his shoulder into each attack- he looks funny. But- he's surprisingly viable as ADC. ADC champs can out poke him early on with AA, but his gap closers quickly make up for it. Even in the role of support, many ADCs don't want to face Thresh's hook. You give Thresh the Attack Damage to follow up with that 'grab' (it's actually a stun) and it's GG.
