So we can have a ranged champion that gets one dash per auto

But we can't have a melee champion that can auto while moving.

Seems legit.

Can we stop pretending that Kalista is OP? she has very low base ad and her mobility is conditional on her being within her aa range. She's good at 1v1 duels, but unless she positions insanely well in teamfights she'll just get rekt. It's not like she can dance around your team unless you let her. Slow her, stun her, land a damn skillshot, her jump is tied to her aa and is easy to predict.

if she becomes problem reduce her base range to 500 from 550 then

honestly I think she is probably fine now but eh

LOL did I really read slow her? How are you gonna slow a champ who is immune to slows?

Tell me if Im wrong, but the only marksman with a higher base ad is vayne... All the other marksmen have inferior attack damage. (I'm not looking at level 18 cause Riot is kinda messing it up this season)

I guess her weakness is targetted cc and 1v1 duels with marksmen. But still, no counterplay for melee champs is pretty darn severe. They seriously need to nerf her attack range, poor sivir...

(P.S. FUN FACT while researching ad scaling: VELKOZ BASE AD SCALES WITH PI! NICE RITO!)

I don't know that anyone has said we can't have a melee that can auto while moving.

I also don't know what good thing that does for the game though. Maybe try putting that mechanic in a kit and seeing if it's cool for some reason?

Every champion has a counter and I'm sure Kalista will have counters as well. For now, can you stop crying that every new champions is op then a few weeks later think they're weak af?

Lucian - Originally thought the be incredibly weak/clunky, a couple small buffs later ended up the single most broken ADC in the game.

Azir - Was supposed to be incredibly broken, at least partially due to a misunderstanding with a Baron bug on the PBE allowing it to be solo'd by anyone with enough range. Ended up being too buggy to even tell what his power level should be on release.

People tend to overreact to some of these things. Except Vel'Koz. Nobody expected him to become much more than what he is now (a new addition to the unfortunately underplayed Immobile Mage class).

Because you'd hit rightclick and press ghost and sit back and watch while your champ sits on an immobile adc. Can you imagine udyr with the ability to attack and move? No thanks.

Oh I see, so the requirement that it be mechanically intensive makes kalista's play on interleaving auto attacks with move commands objectively "better" from a game design point of view.

Mkay, then just make it so that you have to keep drawing circles around your target as fast as possible with your mouse in order to continue auto attacking while moving without stopping (sarcasm)

To be fair I think Kalista is a case of "We're upset she has it" rather than "It's busted and will forever be permaban tier" in terms of her mobility. She does have to stop, wind up an attack, and then she gets to dash. This may not seem like a big deal but given that she can't attack while dashing her orb walking dps is much lower than other ranged carries. Not to mention her damage is fairly low. She's basically another addition to Ez's archetype of adc. Super slippery but low damage. I don't see anyone complaining about permaslow chilly mits Ez with a 4 second E and he has an actual steroid in his kit. Kalista is just safe, and frankly even a single baby double click with high AS if you use attack move can send you flying headlong into the guy you're kiting. She's the kind of ADC you pick when your team consists of extremely hardcore dive and you will have zero peel so you gotta stay alive in teamfights all by yourself. That said, her low base health will make it that even touching her once with a champ that has some form of root/stun pretty much guarantees a kill.

I find it more entertaining when she accidentally jumps back from a fight, only to have to spend the next couple of seconds walking back into AA range.

You can be sarcastic all you want, and while i dont think Kalista is ok in her current state, but you said in the first line is true. The way her passive works is much better game design than being able to AA while moving.

We've got champions with persistent short range AoE like Amumu , and there's also Garen's Judgement. There's plenty of melee based champions that can continue to hurt while on the move.

Pretty simple. Every Kalista I've fought against fails HARD against VarusVarus

  • He has both Hard and Soft CC, 25 Range over her, Slightly more armor and Health, along with 5 more run speed than her, More Mana and better Mana regen.

  • You have VERY slightly faster attack speed than her. Also she gets locked in place and cannot cancel auto-attacks. You can. Take advantage of that to poke/harass her and stack blight when you can.

  • If you stack Blight on her and proc. it with an ability, she's done for.

  • Only real issue is her dash to dodge his skill-shots. So if you can land them on her, she shouldn't be an issue at all.

  • When starting off, go with E then W then Q. Your E will allow you to kite her a bit easier and W to stack blight and pop it with either Q or E

  • If you wanna play more passively than aggressively, start with Q then W then E. Your ULT will absolutely take away any advantage she has over you mobility wise. Once she's rooted in place. It's GG for her.

HOPE THIS HELPS!

I Feel like Master Yi should be able to when he ult since MS and AS are tied into it. Other Champs don't seem like the fighting and moving type.

Rebonack1 votes

I could see Yi being able to do this while his Ult is active. It would certainly fit his GOTTA GO FAST swordsman theme.

Dude kali is pretty easy to destroy... sure if she has a little peel she can be very annoying and do alot of dmg, but so far I have done nothing but wreck them in lane, and I have yet to see one who can actually dash on every auto, furthermore she pretty much makes herself a target before each auto early and mid game as that moment she is still is prime time for anyone with a ranged stun. She is not op by any means. Interesting kit, she is relatively mobile but its not like that dash makes her impossible to gank, or catch, and her AA range is short enough that catching her out is not a tall order.

Champion Skin1 votes

Well then again her passive isn't all that great against ranged champions (like other ADCs) however it is great against melee champions who relies on slows to stick to and catch people for instance champions like Nasus and Olaf (though the AS slow of Wither probably helps I guess)
