I'm used to playing healer enchanters, so outside of laning I'm not really used to being close enough to deal any meaningful damage. I misstep on Zyra and I'm just ded. how do teamfight? and how can I keep my self from consistently trading 1 for 1?

Zyras main builds include health items. Most enchanters dont.

No it doesn't lol.

And most enchanters do.

Zyra Mains generally go item 3311 item 3165 item 3116 item 3151 and something for CDR, or item 3089

Don't know how you came up with that.....

https://lolalytics.com/ranked/worldwide/platinum/plus/champion/Zyra/ agrees with me.

all 3 of the first items have health

I see. So you didn't mean "sustain" but rather outright health.

Which isn't an argument that really .... makes sense..... since most enchanters end games with less than 4-5 deaths. If someone wants to kill you as a mage, they will kill you, even if you have 2800-2900 HP.

P.S. I can pull 3400 HP on Nami, and still have about 470 AP, so that's not necessarily true that they don't have HP either....

(item 3504 item 3174 item 3065 item 3003 item 3027 is pretty potent)

can thats hardly an ideal build though. and i no but the op simply stated why do zyras live longer. And i stated that they typically build health. Its not an arguement over ideal build paths or if someone wants you dead you will survive

On Ideal build: actually it's far more effective than any standardized Nami build. The problem is that in a general game, that's a 14,300 build. It just almost never gets finished.

Most games end at just item 3504 item 3174 , possibly item 3003 , and some boots.

A lot of people build item 3107 in there as well, or some other random....

But vs a Burst Mage team.... this is the most viable build. Even vs some assassins.... since the self heal is almost a FULL HEAL in this case, which can obliterate most assassin combos.

The only assassin I've seen beat me with this build is Kayn , and that was when he has the old item 3147 damage. He went Shadow Assassin, and got fed by my team, and was Duskblade, Trinity and 3 other insane lethality/AD items (can't quite recall the order). Did what seemed like a 1 hit through a wall, although it was really 3 skills and an auto attack. And since he was Shadow Assassin, he got in that Magic damage proc in addition to Trinity + Duskblade damage proc on top of his AD damage.

The reason I had built resist that game, If I recall, was they had a really fed Leblanc as well. Couldn't really defend against them both.

Personally? I'm always positioned in a way to get an out. I don't stick around after I ult, and I predict movement of enemies, because Zyra's skills have delays. The best way not to trade is own the bush you are in, predict where someone on the enemy team is going next, and set a trap.

If you can't set a trap but are fighting on the go, make sure to throw E when you can guarantee it lands, not when someone's running at you (MasterYi for instance might Q you or a plant to avoid an E.

Place R where champions Will be, not where they are. If they are chasing you, place it on you. That makes them choose.... either run into the ult/take damage/ get knocked up before they reach the other side...... or back off. Either is good for you.

Also, I generally don't care about my KDA being in kills. I'd rather 8/3/22 than go 20/10/12..... because they got a lot less gold off me, and my teammates got fed too. So..... I often don't run Comet/Aery If they have an assassin that can reach me. I run Phase Rush, or I go Electrocute, and pick up Nimbus cloak/other movement rune options. I do less damage, but I control the map better and more readily.

Personally.... if you look at Zyra's stats, you'll notice she doesn't have a clear cut rune combo. There's at least 3-4 well performing Keystones and every under rune has a good rate of return. The runes I'm suggesting are chosen less, but have about the same win rates.

Still..... as you said, that's because a lot of Zyra's trade..... which isn't always a bad thing on her. A plant army that chunks and kills 1-2 and hurts other enemies isn't a wash. It's usually a win. So..... common non movement runes, although scoring like 10/10 scores or even 2/10 scores.... are still doing their jobs.

But..... I don't think they'll climb as well because that's a lot of lost agency while she's dead.

My build has 487 Move speed WITHOUT BOOTS and without Nimbus cloak being active (and that's on a champ with no move speed skills) If I throw in boots I move faster than most junglers or assassins that would pursue me.

I'm not going to break down my build because it changes. Just saying..... move speed helps if you don't want the trash KDA's.
