Not Ganking Janna lanes?

Whats up with people refusing to gank lanes with an allied janna?

This has happened in several of my games recently where the jungler and even mid refuse to gank our bot lane solely due to the fact we have a support janna.

like wtf?

It's hard to initiate a gank with a Janna without her doing something like flash ulting. She can pretty much just walk up and slow them with exhaust or Zephyr, and heavily lacks damage after that. Most of the time a smart lane will just walk away if she's floating towards them menacingly. I'm not fond to gank a Janna lane unless it's just really pushed in or diving, because she's my main and I know it's really iff-ey to get anywhere unless it's a CC heavy jungler. (Which usually lack damage, unfortunately.)

But people don't refuse to gank a raka lane tho and raka has way less CC than janna.

Soraka is passive, but less passive. I'd presume a lot wouldn't want to gank the lane unless it was just open and begging for it still, but she can follow up CC or initiate with a silencing root, then a slow, and probably exhaust while dealing more damage than a Janna would. Janna's Q makes her more unreliable offensively since it's telegraphed and slow.

However, I still don't see many more ganks when I'm playing Soraka than Janna. The jungler has to consider where their time would be most effective, and a passive, self-sustaining lane that's not being dove or something isn't the highest priority.

If the enemy is pushing, I would gank. If you push and the enemy is not low, no way.
