Why so many people whining about Tryndamere?

GodJormungandr··3 votes·654 views

So many people say that he is so op and broken, he is cancer, he is most annoying to deal with, he is braindead champion.

He is not... he is all based on auto attacks and melee range of combat, it's so easy to slow/Cc him or to avoid his ult, i mean really he is one of the easiest laners to deal with.

It's the level 2 trades. He literally wins or loses at level by spinning in with a full fury bar and hoping for 2 crits. If he gets them, you either die when he follows up with summoner 4 /summoner 6/summoner 14, or have to back very early and come back with him 1 level ahead, for him to do it to you again.

Yet, if he fails, he automatically loses the trade and usually, the lane after that because he has to now waste his fury for heals and not to crit you, giving you free reign of the entire lane.

The volatility is what people dislike, because it pretty much luck dependent and you can't do anything to avoid it.

That's a good point for a full visual & gameplay rework because he is luck champion either gets ahead or lose lane to farm only

And if he loses he can't be punished enough, will keep the enemy in lane to guard turrets and will eventually outscale the enemy laner 1v1. That's the beauty of Tryndamere hehe

The thing that will always make me hate Tryndamere is that his ult makes him impossible to kill in lane, even if you're fed over him.

I'll never forget a game where I laned as Gnar against Tryndamere and got 2 kills pre-6. Then it didn't matter how hard I stomped him, he always just popped his ult and ran away whenever I would get a kill. Couldn't carry my bot lane because Trynd was literally unkillable.

I have no problem with Trynd being an offensive force. My problem is that you can't snowball against him, regardless of how bad you outplay him.

I understand that, the thing is usually champions with tough cc don't have much issues against him so i don't really know if he is always a strong force, But i definitely agree on snowballing against a tryndamere is harder than many champions because he can sit under turret farms but it's only hard when he is ahead actually because when the laner is ahead {Especially if the laner is tank} it's insane for tryndamere to outplay tanks

Tryndamere doesn't outplay, he doesn't really have the kit to do so. He's a stat-checker pretty much so you will know if you can or cannot deal with him, and stat checking isn't only for him to know when to engage you, it's also for you to know when not to engage him.

You're supposed to bait out his E first, then go in and force him to R.

Dive if you need to.

And then if you force him to be you'll get tower/tower damage or Herald, and from that tower/tower damage.

He is lately complained for being "so op and broken" because recent AD itemization changes made him very strong. He is in top 5 toplaners and not so long ago he had the best winrate (temporarily, but still).

And he is complained on for being braindead because he is braindead. No matter how you look at it he is one of the least - if not THE least - mechanically complicated champions. Teemo, Annie and Volibear all have noticeably more complexity in their kit than he does. Garen is roughly comparable.

I would still hold off the "braindead" part of the description though, simple champions rely more on macromanagement to win games compared to the flashy "outplay" champs who waltz out of bad decisions just because they happen to have quick fingers.

It's not "E first, then land 1 autoattack, reset it with Q, followed by whatever item, then R to follow up, then disengage with W.. ", but more of "The top has gone roaming, then I will take the top turret, he's back so I'll have to back off for now but I can probably steal his red since his jungler is ganking mid... or I could TP bot for a gank and get dragon... etc etc...

They're different kind of skills, and some champs just require more micro than others, but as a result, they get to "outplay" certain situations that would've been really unfavourable for the simple champs, meaning they don't really need as much macro.

His ult cannot be disabled, it works through every single type of CC in the game including knockups and suppression

Its hard to predict when to use though if the burst is big/fast enough.

It seemed like he was implying to silence Trynd before nuking him, so I was correcting him.

It's not his damage that gets people, it's his ultimate. It sort of adds a small veil of what feels like free reign in the lane, especially if you aren't familiar with the best way to trade blows or farm safely against that kind of champion. His ultimate even allows him to tower dive almost freely at times, under the right circumstances. Not every champion has the capability to bog him down for the duration of his ultimate, or enough to matter.

People aren't complaining for no reason.

I understand let's say he is scary for squishy champions only and that's not a big problem because he would never mess with big guys

I want to argue the point that there's a problem with underestimating a champion, especially one like this. But I'm also aware we'll be talking in circles if I do, so we'll agree to disagree.
