Pyke's weaknesses are covered too well by aftershock

What's his play pattern?

Run in stun and pull, then run away and heal until cd's are back.

Pyke is supposed to be high risk during these exchanges, but Aftershock often makes him super tanky during exactly these moments.

We will see if Pyke actually gets a nerf, because this is exactly why they nerfed Lissandra, instead of nerfing Aftershock.

Regardless, Pyke needs his healing nerfed, because there's no real risk to him constantly failing on engage attempts.

why nerf aftershock? what tank is it busted on? It is a rune designed for tanks, nerf/change people of other classes that are abusing it. OOOOOOOR simply make it have bad base values and good tank scaling with hp mr and armor.

BTW Pyke has a negative winrate across all elos except masters. So...Only masters should really complain about him.

My comment was intended to be a criticism on his design, not a complaint. I don't think that Elo and win rate directly correlate with a janky design. Like Akali's design is horrendous, regardless of how high her win rate happens to be.

And honestly, I'm speaking to it from experience after putting 100 games into Pyke, which incidentally, I ended up having a 58% win rate in gold, which seems really damn high for someone like me who's historically played Enchanters.

I personally feel like he can't be properly punished for botching an engage, getting caught out, or getting hit with poke. But this is completely off the topic of Aftershock on him.

It used to be designed for tanks but was changed so more than just tanks could use it. Before the change, it was only used on tanks and even then they still preferred damage because the values were shit early and games didnt last long to make use of it. If it still ran on percentage instead of flat then it would be straight up USELESS now because of the true damage bukakke that riot has did to us.

Its fine how it is now. Its meant to make divers and engagers much safer in exchange for damage. Pyke has an execute but looses a lot of damage from electrocute since the damage from aftershock isnt always reliable. Liss can actually engage without having to pop her cool downs with less fear of getting popped instantly. She can actually play the way she is meant to be played. If Courage of Colossus was still in the game and introduced as a new rune as a replacement to aftershock, you bet your ass people would take it on her as a replacement to help her survivability.

I don't think so mate. For example if CoC was still in the game and shielded for lets say 15% max hp or 10%, that's waaaaay less survivability especially early game, compared to current aftershock.

They should remove aftershock and maybe add some stacking iteration of it. For example, the longer you stay in fight with champions the more your resistances go up.

Tanks have no runes to use atm. And all the secondary resolve runes are not at all tanky.

Not just Pyke's....

Lissandra Thresh Leona

Leona for example is meant to be a once you're in, you're in champion. Aftershock allows her to walk out without taking a meaningful retaliation trade.
