That's not a new account that's a account that was hardstuck iron 4 from the previous owner. Riots MMR system is really biased against players improving and you can legit maintain 70% WR for over a hundred games and your LP gains will approach embarrassing numbers like 12 per win and 23 per loss. It's actually just joke how bad it is.

Edit: it's actually worse then a thought. The account was Hardstuck Silver not Iron 4. Dudes winning 85% of his games and only gaining like 15 LP per win then LOL

He must have tanked his MMR REALLY hard the previous season or something. You can see that he faces players that are a whole division below him. something's definitely wrong.

Now if this was DotA, what the game would've done is label him as a smurf and heavily inflate his MMR to get said account out of low elo immediately.

Riot needs to be more like Valve.

And they keep saying "working as intended".

Their matchmaking is not even a joke anynmore, it's a scam.

Riot's matchmaking has been a complete failure for a long time. Playing ranked in low elo is a miserable experience.

nothing new.... ive seen plats with silver and diamond with golds

It's obviously a boosted account. This guy never played Olaf at all last season and is now spamming him and has a ridiculous win rate. He was likely stuck and only getting 15 LP a win or so and decided to buy a boost to get him wherever he wants to go.

That is a fresh account from any reasonable guess imo.

And if that is the case, it makes sense. There is no prior mmr to base the account off of. Meaning that he started from iron and went up the normal way.

If the system over corrects him then he is going to end up in plat in like 20 games. instead of 67 games.

The highest LP gain I have seen is like 37 lp, I assume you can hit 40. The closest I have ever gotten is 33 lp per match, and that was after winning 28 games in a row.

You can skip pretty easily after you win like 15 on a neutral account, 25 for a neg account, and 8 for a pos account.

but regardless, you still have to go from x to promo to skip.

Assuming this is a fresh account that started in iron 4. 5 + 3 + 5 + 3 + 5 + 5 = bronze 4, 5 + 5 + 5 + 5 = silver 4. We can assume that he starts jumping whole divisions at this point. +5 +5 = gold 4 +5 + 5= plat 4 To get to plat 4 with no losses = 66 games. With no MMR increases (with duo-ing). This is also not including where he actually started and assumes it was iron 4.

The system is working as intended, and nothing is being abused. The only thing that you can say is that "he is smurfing", this happens. Every elo experiences it. But the frequency is much higher once you get to p2+, since it is a smaller % of players, with higher chances of having smurf accounts. I know that if I wanted to, I could have 6 accounts in diamond for testing on 5 and actually playing on 1.

But I leave them all over the place because I like to play different roles and different champions.

Get your teeth together! [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

But on a serious note, its most likely not the same person. Compare his current stats to his older stats. I'll give them the benefit of doubt though. Its possible for some players to improve drastically over a single season but they usually improve on the champs that they've played the season before. He has no Olaf games all of S9. The only common point are the Jax games. Jax, averaging 179 cs in 7 games (last season) to Jax averaging 213 cs in 4 games. And Nasus, 139 cs in 6 games (last season) to 255 cs in 1 game.

Actually that would explain a lot.

Hmm another Smurf stomping people with Olaf. Have had a couple of those in my games. I think some of these people are Elo Boosters. Olaf would be a champ to pick for easy quick games and boosting. I've been seeing a lot of smurfs or elo boosters in my games lately. Some admit to being D1 or D2 smurfs and that their main was banned, like this 80% win rate Fiddle support main I played with. He called all the shots and lead us to easy win. I believe his main was at least diamond. I think Riot should take a stand and ban anyone who is an elo booster. I know smurfing is allowed, It's a problem in a lot of games. Overwatch has a very bad smurfing problem too.
