Explain Aegis and Locket to me

first off i play AP ranged supports. my play style is to do damage and supplement a losing lane i like to bring utility.

but i stand away from my team and try and run odd directions because i play zyra and when i am caught i am basically caught and i dont want me dieing to snowball into a team wipe.

this item has been nerfed pretty hard lately. i have been in multiple games now that people are asking me to build this. it makes Zero sense to me.

i am asking for someone to explain to me what i dont understand please.

because an aoe shield active, aoe mr, hp, cdr, and cost effectiveness, are all what a support wants

the item is literally one of the best support items, except in fringe cases of all ad teams, or something similar.

but the OP don t wanna be a support they wanna do damage... typical issue with mage supports

What's to explain? If they are asking for it, it's probably because there are multiple AP carries on the enemy team, or at least one that is getting pretty fed (with Zyra's squishiness it's not a bad personal option imo). I assume you probably want more AP to be another carry, which is great for Zyra, but they probably don't care. I can't really tell you whether you should follow their advice and sacrifice your damage for it, or ignore them; you'll have to make that decision on the spot. Unless your top and jungler are both assassins, there's usually little reason one of them can't get it instead, so feel free to ask them to get one instead.

its best to build items to help your team... i looked at your history and you are at least getting sight stone and gold income item... what you build from their is up to you but if you do build items that do more then one thing you would be able to be supportive to the team and still do damage

for example on Zyra item 2301 item 3060 item 3050 item 3020 item 3151 item 3116 would help your team with the aura of and the passive of while giving you tank stats and ap as well. and it wont hurt your damage and you still can get the ap core items of
