I'm silver 1 this season and just faced a diamond 1 and a gold something or other. (I've been gold past 2 seasons but fuck DQ) But the past few games I've been against plats and golds with very few silvers. Is it because I've been gold the past 2 seasons? Don't worry not a qq thread we won both games but what's up with this? I feel like less experienced players are just being thrown to the sharks with this.
DeathBurst2 votesFor what it's worth, I'm low Gold in Ranked, and I'm matched against Bronze/Unranked in Normals. It's not scripted, it's just that I play in Ranked more often, and I use Normals to learn new champs and farm chests, so my MMR is lower in the Normal Queue.
If a Plat player is using his main champ in Normals against Silver, he's a bit of an ass, but not a lot of things Riot can do about it, sadly...

well, it's really hard to speak for the new players, if you have been gold for the past two seasons.
Also I thought normal MMR and Ranked MMR were different, so if you played more ranked than norms, it would make sense if those numbers are skewed. Conversely, if people play more norms, then their actual ranking, wouldn't be representative of their actual skill.
Siyther1 votesnormal and ranked mmr are different. also being matched against playeres well beyond your skill level sucks.It also sucks for the ppl match against players they could beat in their sleep . personally i dont mind being matched against diamond or golds in normals i always learn something from those games.Ive never been matched that baadly in ranked most ive drawn are low silvers cause im bronze and old lol. Matchmaking improvements are also an on going process so hopefully it gets better for all

I don't mind it either but my mid got dumpstered by a diamond 1 Varus. How is that fair to them?
