I suggest we change itemization for AP champions in a way that seems to be working for junglers

We need more AP itemization. why? Balance. Kassadin was really opressive the past few seasons because he could lock down squishies in early team fights, then kill them in late game team fights without changing his playstyle. Itemization changes led to this, becuase of his scaling being strong in season 1 when staple items were much weaker. Now we face a season where jungle diversity was very very weak and is now very very strong because of a wide variety of enchantments. In other words. Instead of balancing around removal of abilities riot could instead revolve balance around a core set of enchantments that generally benefit a set group or can be built to counter that said group. In particular a QSS does not currently build into an AP item so you kind of end up with some relatively wasted stats later game. What if you had a shell of an item that when enchanted gave you a qss active on an ap item along with some decent background stats like HP or move speed? enchantments are the way to go. You can totally add any type of mechanic to them and they totally allow riot full creativity. The enchantments can be anything from a targeted silence, to a mikaels crucible active. It could totally change the way league of legends is balanced and played for the better. The issue league is facing right now is that some kits are complacently better than others so a lot of number tweaking is the only thing the balance team can do. But when there are 12ish unique enchantments that are tailored to specific champion types and counters to those champion types you end up with a group of 6 strongish enchantments and 6 counters to those enchantments. Rabadon's Wrath Luden's Echo Zhonya's Memory Xena's Zeal Shurelya's Reverie Mikael's Crucible You can take every item in league and modulize it if you think about it. They currently have very set build paths. But what if we made one or two or three items and then turned every current ap item into an enchantment that you could build into the current ap itemization slots? Imagine it. Instead of riot gutting your favorite champion like kassadin becuase his silence is too strong, you build what would replace rabadons deathcap and its enchantment gives tenacity and a qss. Effectively halfing the duration of his disable. The point i'm making here is that riot has found a way to itemize that is PERFECT for a moba. In particular SMITE and Heroes of the Storm use a similar system. Where SMITE takes items and gives them a similar build path that builds into multiple versions of the "same" item. Heroes uses a talent system, and when there are balance issues instead of removing mechanics they take the talents that are strong and move them to late game when everyone is strong. The possibilities for itemization and changes to itemization would allow for very very easy balance changes because the AP and cost would remain the same for the base items and the enchantments would be just like they are now for jungling items. It would change this game for the better. TL;DR: The smite enchantments would work complacently well with replacing the current ap itemization, moving the actives of current ap items to enchantments making game balance a much easier task and also making qss build into an ap useable item. At the end of this season riot will have enough experience with the jungle enchantment balance that it seems to me they would be able to implement this without a hitch.
