Lower elos makes playing a tank feel unfulfilling

I used to enjoy being a fat wall of health. But as the seasons progress and the games become more steamrolly based off which team's adc read a mobafire guide while loading in, it just doesn't feel right anymore.

Sometimes you want to play... I dunno, Nautilus. But you also dont know if your Kog'Maw or Vayne will continue cosplaying as an African relief camp before you get any sort of bulk.

Is the true nature of low elo just blitzing some highly tiltable target until they afk or stop grouping with the likes of Quinn or Shaco?

Dude, tanks in low elo are great if you have protective instincts.

Think of it like this: Everyone in low elo is bloodthirsty. They want kills, they want glory, and they suck at not dying in their attempts. But if they had someone to keep them alive or make it safer for them, then they can do amazing things.

That's where tanks come in. You keep enemies from running so your teammates don't chase through the jungle. You start fights so your carry doesn't get caught out trying. You stick to your squishy mage like glue so he doesn't get instagibbed when doing his combo.

"But they won't learn if you just act like a helicopter parent."

Fuck them! This isn't about them learning, this is about you using some bloodthirsty animals to your advantage!

Empower that bloodlust, keep them safe as they indulge in it, and always be the responsible one. You aren't their brick wall, you are their WARLORD.

Playing a champion/role who can't carry in low elo is almost literally a coin toss unless you're so far better than the other players that it wouldn't matter who you were playing.

When you play a tank top laner, one of two things happens. Either your team snowballs so hard that they don't even need you, or the enemy team snowballs so hard that you can't tank them.
