Someone explain to me the matchmaking in blind in this case

So this is my 1st season ever in LoL and even though I am lv 49 on my account, I am also unranked. Yet I get matched up with high Silver, Gold and occasionally even Plat in most matches.

How come someone who was never been ranked gets to play against someone higher than Bronze or low Silver?

I would probably estimate my current level at low Silver given that I usually do well against players below Silver 3 or so, but I struggle with those above, but that is roughly my appreciation, without any actual Ranked experience.

usually it depends on your mmr. since your mmr is pretty high that measn you are gonna get matched with higher level players. my brother was silver 3 in season 7 and he gets mkatched with golds. plats, and diamonds all the time

Because the average player is around silver 2-5 range and not in bronze. Also it's kinda hard to find the perfect game because this would take forever.
