Can We Please Fix Thresh's Hook Width?
We all know how we dodged that hook then out of nowhere it clips to the one pixel and you get fucked.

morgana q is even worse
At least Morg Q's hitbox (enormous as it is) is actually what's shown on screen.
I've honestly never seen that happen. Sure, I don't play Morg a lot, but that seems pretty uncommon.
but its also the fact that it happens on the one out of few champion that everyone says has a broken hit box that is the most frustrating part.
But that's a bugged hitbox that should just be posted to the "Report a Bug" boards. Morg overall suffers for that good Q, with an ult that's basically worthless for a squishy (even post-Zhonia's it's pretty bad), a W that's pretty crap for a support, and an E that requires great timing to do use well. Thresh's hook is completely intended to not be its actual hitbox.
Having a Q hitbox the size of Texas is totally balanced, kappa
Can confirm. We saw a hook aimed toward Oklahoma, but it hit us instead. Part of Texas is now technically in Louisiana and Arkansas. Fuck you, Thresh.
hahaha. 10/10
2 things to point out:
His Q hit box doubles at max range because it allows for it to clip people who are just out of range. Most skillshots in League actually do this to attempt to omit those feel bad moments where you miss the skill because they just happened to have a slight bit of Move Speed where skill is not necessarily involved (One example I know of really well is Ezreal Q, since it goes a fair bit beyond the indicator). On the bright side at least Thresh's Q isn't like Chogath's silence where you get hit if you were in the area when the attack was launched.
I think those are goingto all be patched out since they caught Darius' version of it, and I think Rumble too
Fucking Darius man. Thank God they patched that out.
On the down side to bad ChoGaths Q isn't at least accurate. Stand close to the edge and you'll dodge it.
A lot of hit boxes for skill shots and champions need to be redone.
Because nothing says balance like dodging a skillshot, just for it to hit you from outside of what you can see.
It will never happen because #LCSBIGPLAYS.
However, since it's so wide he'll also hook minions or your tank instead of you, so it works both ways.
I'm more concerned with how he DOESNT face the direction he's hooking..
That really isn't an issue, its similar to sports, (Imma use dodge ball for this example). In dodge ball, you can be looking at one person, and throw the ball at someone on the other side of the playing field to catch them off guard. its actually a neat little mechanic and it keeps people on their toes
It's a huge issue because it becomes a guessing game for the enemy and it's the sole example. There is no skill involved except "mind games". Your sports example applies to every skillshot, but imagine if someone could throw a full powered shot backwards, and you get thresh.
You do know thats how skillshots work right? That's literally how EVERY single skill shot in the game works.
Thresh is by far the worst offender
No, he isn't. The only reason it looks like a problem is because thresh's q still has an animation after it hits.
Can they just "Fix Thresh" with a rework and every other "serves kill up on silver platter HOOK skill shot" champ. Here is what your matches look.
and 3 other champs probably

Thresh and other champs with "hook" based kits are the problem, not their absurd hitboxes which only highlight their problems.
yes plz
His hook widens as it goes farther
Invisible power ftw. Literally
That would be any skillshot my dear.
Also Bard's Q. It's like he hits you and then it goes in a 90 degrees angle and hits someone beside you.
I actually hate Thresh in general. For you you can cut off his arms.
remember jarvan`s QE 260 nerf to 180 radius knockup ?more skills need to be reduced on its width
People don't really realize this, but this isn't a hitbox problem - it's ping.
Let's say you have 50ms ping and your opponent has 50ms ping. On their screen, their hook hits, and on your screen it misses. Their client sends a message to the server, and the server decides whether you actually got hit or not. This can cause discrepancies in hitboxes for skillshots where it appears they didn't hit you but they do (happens a lot with Blitz hook, too). This has been going on since the creation of the game, and there's not a whole lot Riot can do about it - they need certain safeguards in place to prevent laghacking to dodge skillshots.
Imo opinion his Hitbox is to small... It's a skill shot with a delay time which makes it very easy to dodge unless you aren't paying attention or he is trying to hook you from somewhere you have no vision. Lee sins Q skill shot is pretty much instant so he can land it a lot easier than a thresh hook so imo the hit box should be bigger since it's so easy to dodge.
You guys are seriously still on this? I've tried to replicate this multiple times, and every time the result is the same. If it just "barely scrapes" them it doesn't do anything. it flies by. Have you considered that it's not Thresh's hook that's the problem, but specific champion hit boxes?
I've thrown hooks that hit the side of sivir, and still missed somehow without her spell shielf being active. The only moments I've ever seen a hook just auto lock after missing is on champions with weird walking animations like Shaco's prance. it clips his ankle and that counts as his hit box for some reason.
The only champions I see actually ever auto locking onto a champion, despite a clear miss or a small scrape, are MOrgana and occasionally Blitz. But again, this seems to be more champion specific than projectile specific.
And why does he need infinite ap scaling?
At this point, it would probably be too detrimental to do so. Everyone, from noobs to pros play Thresh, and if you take away hook width its gunna make it all the more harder to use. You can argue that it'll separate the true Thresh pros from the others, and it will, but it won't make Thresh any more or less used, itll probably just kill his win rate slightly.
Predicting it now.
Patch 5.25: Thresh Death Sentence's hitbox has been updated to match its visuals. This should help separate the good Threshes from the great ones.
Even better when it hits that one little edge of you the hook model will go past your side then randomly snap an inch over onto you because it "hit".
Legit, nothing is more irritating than dodging the hook and watching that damned sickle all of a sudden blink 2 centimeters down your screen onto your face.
Same is true for a lot of skillshots, tbh, I've noticed that pretty much all hooks have a bigger hitbox than they seem like they should.
Sure, as long as we are doing the same thing to blitzcranks pull.
