Best top laner in a teamfight that DOESN'T get crapped on early?

Nasus, jax and maybe even riven if played not the best get crapped on early. Who else should I use?

1st Honestly I don't know why people haven't noticed how hard it is to lose lane as Hecarim Maokai Swain .

2nd Malphite Galio Ryze Singed may not always win lane, but they are always relevant.

Jax gets crapped on early? I have found he has a pretty good early game so long as your not vs ranged.

Lots of good suggestions here. You might like a ranged top and/or someone with lots of sustain and escapes so you won't be screwed if you mess up 1 trade. Vlad comes to mind. Rumble is tricky, can be pretty safe. Sion is melee, but take a flask and pots to lane and you should be alright, he's a big bully. Irelia is melee but also nice, hard cc, mixed dmg, sustain that power spikes at 6.

Garen does pretty well early and mid game, but his lack of damage and CC late game makes him a little less effective, but the Silence and spin-to-win is not to be underestimated. Plus his ult is great for picking off that 200 life ADC trying to run away from the fight.

Fiora some say she is freelo, others say she is weak... I think it depends on whether you have hard CC or not.
