I'd like to see more positional control and artillery champions

I've come to realize when looking at the champion subclasses that I was naturally drawn to the specialists, but particularly area control types, minion swarm types, or artillery types. Looking back, I can say that these kinds of characters in most games have appealed to me.

Artillery: Ziggs Ziggs and Xerath Xerath. I'm naturally drawn to the longest range highest damage poke I can find. Jhin Jhin and Jayce Jayce don't really do it for me because they don't get to utilize their long range abilities enough.

Positional control: Azir Azir - One of my first favorite champions. Ranged soldiers to fight for him. A wall. You can even build a freakin turret to fight under. Unfortunately, he never felt the same after they nerfed his control range. I feel forced to play him as a close in battlemage, and consequently he doesn't appeal to me like he use to.

Heimerdinger Heimerdinger - He's a champion I wanted to like. But having experienced other turret based characters in other MOBAs, I just don't feel like he is that interesting. I don't feel like there's enough power and utility in his turrets by comparison. Too reliant on his spellcasting, rather than positional control and turret drop management. I also tend to like when I have the potential to get lots and lots of stuff placed down through increased abilities or itemization, rather than feeling locked into three dinky turrets the whole game. It doesn't feel as much like I'm really taking over an area.

Teemo Teemo - Mushrooms. Mushrooms everywhere. The best thing in League. I think one of the main reasons he feels more satisfying than Malz, Yorick, or Heimer, is that your summon quantity increases as the game goes on and you have the option to itemize for more. The others feel too locked in to their numbers, like "oh, is that all I get, for the whole game? Well this is kind of lame". His ability to stealth also really helps him control an area. He controls an area by uncertainty. Is he stealthed? Is there a mushroom there? He can shape the flow of combat by forcing the enemy to either avoid an area or fight on unfavorable ground. This is very interesting and fun to pull off. He lacks the raw kill power of techies in Dota2, though. He's more of an annoyance after all the nerfs.

Illaoi Illaoi - I actually haven't gotten to buy her yet, but the positional aspect appealed to me. Although it's more of a soft positional advantage, rather than positional control. So I don't know if I'd quite really count it here.

Minion swamers: Malzahar Malzahar - He's not really one anymore, which is really unfortunate. I had great fun on him back when you your voids getting kills would spawn more voids. Lacking the potential to amp up your minions just makes him boring and uninteresting.

Yorick Yorick - I was really looking forward to his rework for this reason. I love the character types in MOBAs or other games that build up large armies and momentum and start bashing down the gates. Unfortunately, he's nothing like that. Nor do I really think his potential ability to push multiple lanes at once really lived up to the hype. Especially compared to things like Azmodon or Abathur in HotS.

I don't remember where it was mentioned but I think Riot has said they won't do artillery champions anymore

Post rework Xerath is hardly artillery, old Xerath was 100% artillery, so that's gone unfortunately :/

Never got to play the old Xerath. Looks like a champion I still would have wanted to play. I really like the idea of him being like a mobile tower full of stacked armor as he gains AP, making it difficult to be dived. Way cooler passive than a lame mana gain.

But I still enjoy the current Xerath as artillery, because nobody else can output that kind of damage, at that range, with that kind of frequency. The only one closest is Ziggs.
