Ashe Kit Update

##GOALS:

Passive: Frost's Bite Ashe's basic attacks deal extra damage to enemies she has slowed.

~I don't like the hidden power, but this will do for now

Q: Ranger's Focus

  • Passsive: Every third basic attack gives Ashe a charge of focus. She may store up to 3 charges.
  • Active: Ashe expends a charge of focus and her next basic attack or W becomes empowered. Empowered basic attacks become a flurry of arrows that deals extra damage and slow the target. Empowered attacks don't grant charges of focus.

~Ashe's ability to kite now depends on her ability to spend her focus stacks well.

W: Volley Ashe fires several arrows in a cone, dealing damage to and slowing the first enemy hit by each arrow. Volleys empowered by ranger's focus have more arrows, increasing the length and width of the volley.

~The regular volley would likely be smaller than the current version, but both would do more damage

E: Hawkshot Ashe sends a hawk spirit to larget location, granting vision as it travels for 2 seconds and then in large radius for 5 seconds when it reaches its destination. If there is an enemy champion at its destination it will fly back to ashe and grants her a charge of ranger's focus and go on a reduced cool down.

~Gives an in combat use for hawkshot

R: Enchanted Crystal Arrow Same as current.

~I considered having it grant a charge of focus on hit, but she may have enough for now.

No. Ashe got an update that put her where she currently is, which already achieved a lot of what you're asking. Ashe doesn't need another update.

Ashe certainly is more interesting than before, but her combat pattern is still fairly linear. I believe that she should be simple, with some room for decision making during fights besides just where to stand and when to ult.

Her combat pattern is suppose to be fairly linear. You are downplaying how important where to stand and when to ult actually is for Ashe.

It is important yes, but that is important for EVERY adc, and to an extent every champion. She doesn't stand out much besides the persmaslow.

You say that like having a permaslow is weak. She doesn't need much more than that. That is why you are suppose to want her on your team. She is a utility ADC.

Permaslow, global vision, impressive effective range, global stun, AoE slow, spectacular late game DPS. All stand out as Ashe.

Is there any point to this, though?

Not only is there really nothing wrong with Ashe right now, but she's currently one of the only crit ADCs who actually still works well in this meta.

Ashe isn't in a BAD spot right now, by which I mean she isn't unhealthy to play against and her current kit is OK at best.

Still, many complain that she trades a lot of power for her utility, which can make her feel underwhelming as an attack damage carry. This is largely due to her passive applying a constant slow.

She also has little room for skill expression beyond good positioning, but that is true for any adc. I don't think she should be complicated, but a little more decision making and interaction between abilities would go a long way to making her interesting to play.

I don't like the term "hidden power". We have way too much visible power these days.

Is it bad for players to know why they are taking damage? One of the most frustrating things is when you start a fight and suddenly receive a different result than expected without getting outplayed in any clear way.
