Will there ever be a gamemode with a map that's twice the size of Summoner's rift?
Or is that just an optimization nightmare and not possible?

Sounds less like an optimization nightmare and more a "People walk slowly" nightmare.
It'd take fucking ages to get anywhere in that mode. It'd take a full goddamn minute to get to lane.
Like...they can probably do it. I just don't see any appeal in it.
