So how exactly are you supposed to counter Twitch?

He can travel across half the map in stealth mode and then he gets an attack speed steroid to kill anybody he wants to willy nilly?

When I'm playing with friends we always go into team fights with the plan of " Get twitch as soon as he comes out of stealth" so we're all in the mind frame to kill him as soon as he pops up

Bootleg Gay10/15/2017, 1:05:45 PM16 votes

Randuins and Thornmail, plus Ninja Tabi. He won't do shit for damage, and he'll kill himself. Works on all Marksman except Vayne, cause true damage. Otherwise, you gotta pick someone with quick engage.

Kalista can throw someone at him, Vi gets in his face, Urgot can mow him down, and plenty of Slayer class champions like Yasuo or Yi can reach him and kill him quickly if he doesn't have any peel. Because he's immobile and has no CC, he relies super heavily on his team to keep him alive while he does the damage, and wants kills to reset his stealth. He's definitely closer to an assassin than most other marksman, but he's still a marksman. If you're looking to counter him in lane;

Quinn, Teemo, or Lucian make for good burst counters.

StoryDuck10/15/2017, 2:21:37 PM7 votes

ban him. Otherwise...pray he doesn't have half-decent positioning skills so you can target him

DuskDaUmbreon10/15/2017, 3:01:17 PM6 votes

Bring high mobility burst and some armor.

This is basic common sense. If an immobile ADC is too strong, you bring burst champions to fight them. You can substitute just about any marksman here. Ashe? Bring burst. MissFortune? Bring burst. Kalista? Bring burst. Twitch? Bring burst. Caitlyn? Bring burst.

You bring burst to fight DPS. That's how it's always been. This is nothing new.

You snowball your bot lane harder.

This awfull meta has been in effect for a couple of months. Kinda ironic that the Balance team ruined the World's even after specifically balancing for it.

I think I don't have problems out of maining Leona. I never hear his full ult quote because he's CC'd the second he appears.

Oh and item 3190item 3193 on any tank, you won't know he was even there.

The best counter, swag-wise is Bard. Not that it's more effective than hard engage, it's just funnier and has a stronger mental impact on the Twitch player.

Please nerf to the ground. Kog and Lulu too.

If you watched the second SKT vs C9 game then you would see just how ridiculous twitch can be. It's one thing when you make a mistake in vision, you're not paying attention, you group up, you get chain CC'd and allow him to get off all shots, like what happened to EDG, whatever. That's one thing. It's an entirely different form of ridiculous when you are pretty sure of where twitch is, position accordingly, don't group up unless you're ready to deal with twitch, and twitch just randomly unloads his ult and gets half the team to 1/3 health so you're not able to fight for the next objective. A lot of people would say that it was Huni's split pushing that won that game, and that's technically true, but what allowed that split pushing to happen was the constant threat of twitch, either imagined or real. It really was pretty brilliant use of twitch. Of course I also think it's ridiculous for any champion to be able to do that simply by existing and being in the game.

Rengar does the exact same thing and just dies lul

I don't see the problem. All working as intended

Twitch is trash in laning phase. Smash him in lane to delay his power spike. If you can't, bring jungler to help you. Be prepared that twitch may pop off anywhere. just deal with him the same way you deal with Evelynn, except less burst but way more sustained damage. Focus on twitch as soon as he pops up. He has no mobility, just like ashe. CC him, burst him, before he can do any decent damage. If you can't do the above, just retreat when he ult. Kite till his ult times out. Twitch is not very good at chasing, and he doesn't do much damage without ult. Oh, and don''t stand in a line in front of twitch. You are just doing him a favor.

Quepha10/15/2017, 3:32:29 PM3 votes

don't act like he's not there just because you can't see him.

Skorch10/15/2017, 7:25:54 PM2 votes

Jokingly: BAN HIM

Seriously: Be really good at the ward game (something most people arent good at till like... diamond. AND be really good at punishing. If a Twitch isnt fed enough, and tries to flank (which they do a lot) just stun and annihilate him as fast as possible. If hes NOT flanking, then on the bright side you know hes coming because he will be behind his team out of stealth.

You defend against him in the same way those new "eve mains" expect you to defend against running into a xin, leesin, literal support jungle ivern, and that is to die and give up free gold while acting like its perfectly acceptable for that to happen and is considered healthy and balanced design.

Didn't the boards complain about Syndra a while ago? Just pick her and press R i guess.

Snowplosion10/15/2017, 7:25:52 PM1 votes

Based on what I have seen at Worlds you can beat him as long as you end before thirty minutes.

TheHappyReaperz10/15/2017, 3:30:37 PM1 votes

Hard CC and control wards do a pretty decent job of keeping him in check.

Sire Hippington10/16/2017, 5:08:47 PM1 votes

The biggest issue with twitch is that his only strategic counterplay is shut him down early and hope you can smowball it through befor he gets going.

His stealth naturally makes him great at finding picks and ambushing splitpushers, and the natural counter to that would be grouping up and teamfighting so he can't use the stealth to outnumber you. However, this is there things become uggly, because he has his absurd ult that allows him to decimate any grouped up team in no time. So if you splitpush, hos stealth will get you, if you try to teamfight his ult will destroy you, you just don't really have much options once he's going.

DtimeD10/16/2017, 5:35:02 PM1 votes

Bronze dont use control wards

JoeMG10/16/2017, 6:02:01 PM1 votes

I remember when I started playing him 2 seasons ago. His thing was having a very weak early game in exchange for arguably the best late game as an adc. Unfortunately the ardent censor meta now allows his early game to be just as viable as other ADCs, meaning he almost always snowballs. Unless Riot puts him in check somehow, your best bet is to freeze the lane by your tower and do your best to deny his cs to delay his power spike. After that make sure you have enough peel, shields and cc on your team to shut him down immediately in team fights.
