Sometimes I feel like riot regrets making more than 30 champions.
There's so many champions I love to play but hardly any of them are viable anymore,

in their mind, there aren't even more than 30 champions looks at alotted bans
For normal players (anything below plat) pretty much every champ is viable. We may be bad, but we do get some nice things.
Below Platinum, everything is viable. I love being awful.
Evn above Platinum, anything can work. Look at Urgot's Diamond win rate. I know that is probably just one or two players, but if they can do it then he has to at least work, right?
On your actual post, Riot probably does wish there were only 30 champions - the newest three or four and possibly one or two of the old ones. They seem to like specialisation.
Riot's rolling in money. Do you think they regret a damn thing?
I hear it's common in tragedies to resent the loss of a soul or dignity for material gains.
Then again, those are just fanciful tales, aren't they? It does seem, however, that Riot has some sort of Faustian deal going on, to be fair. Trading of their willingness to communicate and listen as much as they used to in exchange for money beyond what most of us will ever see in our lives. Guess that's not quite Faustian, but how often does one get to truly describe something as such?
