Alter some or make your own!

Edit: Since this has garnered so much attention I'd like to clarify my thoughts on the cartoon. This is not me hating on ADCs, I'm not trying to call anyone out and I certainly did not mean to offend anyone.

To me this cartoon is all about the sacrifices a support makes in a duo lane, creating a huge level and gold hardship for the player all game, all to give their team a massive amount of utility/vision and using all their resources for people other than themselves. The most selfish items supports usually get to build is 'i want to live longer' items or 'i need more gold for utility items.'

Closing I'd like to encourage you guys to post more humorous and/or thought provoking cartoons, I feel like they can create some really good discussion!

Edit2: Here's another cartoon, I hope you all enjoy it!

Edit3: Here's another one, let me know what you guys think!

I'm not sure about half, but don't act like all support mains are all goody-goody. I always say gj after we secure a kill, but if they dare say they did all the work, then they deserve no (for lack of better word) thanks for getting me fed. Bot lane is a team, you both have to cooperate with each other (to some degree) to win your lane.

I've met a lot of toxic support mains in my time.

Wolfeur5 votes

As a main support who's worse at ADC than Urf trying to use a keyboard, I support you. Supports are mandatory for a team but so are ADCs and playing ADC needs as much skills and teamplay as playing support.

The thing is support mains aren't more toxic than anyone else.

Exactly. Any lane can be toxic, it's all dependent on the player, NOT the role.

Perhaps ADC's do get fed by the support, because they lack the utility supports do, like CC to secure kills, such as stuns, roots, slows, etc, which can be devastating in lane.

ADC's also have a huge target on their head in the mid-late game, but often times, with good kiting (and hopefully peel, if necessary), you can deal consistent damage while avoiding damage yourself, and juking skillshots.

yes because the purpose of this thread clearly isn't to boast at how (supposedly)awesome and noble supports are whilst the carry is just a spoiled child, clearly.

I think he is referring to the stereotypical ADC and the absolute truth on how the Support's job is to feed the ADC. The perspective you put it in is a tad bit too literal. As a Support and a learning ADC (right-clicking is too hard I guess for me) I would die 40 times if it meant my ADC gets 40+ kills. All lanes have an important role in the game. The Support must keep the ADC alive, die for them, and get them kills. The ADC's job is to work with the support and be the reason why you win the game. Whether it has to resort to pure splitpushing or winning the teamfights. Not just the support is being boasted here.

manbearswine2 votes

I think he is referring to the stereotypical ADC

what sterotypical adc? the average adc doesn't act like that, and as far as assholes go there are plenty of assholes who play support.

and the absolute truth on how the Support's job is to feed the ADC.

except that the adc has as big a contribution at getting himself fed early game and an even bigger one lategame, this isn't dota, retarded lucian outtrades pretty much any support at level 1(cause fuck logic),on top of generally having more control over how pushed the lane is,which will often decide how aggressive his support can be(it's awfully hard for thresh to hook when there are 10 opposing minions and only 2 of his,and even leona wouldn't want to tank 10 creeps in a prolonged engage). face it,over all the moronic supports nerfs and adc buffs you don't even have early game anymore, you are just "meh" at all points in the game.

The perspective you put it in is a tad bit too literal.

not even slightly,I described what is shown in that the picture perfectly, that is what the picture implies.

As a Support and a learning ADC (right-clicking is too hard I guess for me) I would die 40 times if it meant my ADC gets 40+ kills.

oh so you would sacrifice your kda in order to win? wow,so you are trying to win a game who's purpose is to win,you should get a medal.

All lanes have an important role in the game.

some more than others, there's a reason you have people fighting over mid constantly, mid has everything handed to them on silver platter: short lane for less jungle interference? check. full solo lane farm? check. optimal position to roam? check. full solo lane exp? check. great utility, damage, and roam potential? check. we really could use some mid lane nerfs(inb4 everyone who mains mid gets mad at the idea).

The Support must keep the ADC alive,

It's not just the support, everyone wants their highest dps squishy to live,if you actually pay attention you will see mid/jungle/top will also defend the adc.

die for them,

The support will generally die for anyone else if he can(usually he can't),being the least important guy makes that decision quite obvious.

and get them kills.

That's BS,the job of everyone is to get kills, the support would just rather avoid taking them for himself, for the same reason he does not take farm.

The ADC's job is to work with the support and be the reason why you win the game.

The ADC's job is pretty much the same job everyone else has, somewhat excluding the support,as the support generally has an aversion to gold and more responsibility towards consumables.

Not just the support is being boasted here.

take a good long look at that picture, are you sure that it's not the support boasting? cause I sure as hell see nothing else in that picture(because there is none).

what sterotypical adc? the average adc doesn't act like that, and as far as assholes go there are plenty of assholes who play support.

Are there assholes who play support? You're damn right there are. However most people including myself see much more asshole ADCs than supports.

except that the adc has as big a contribution at getting himself fed early game and an even bigger one lategame, this isn't dota, retarded lucian outtrades pretty much any support at level 1(cause fuck logic),on top of generally having more control over how pushed the lane is,which will often decide how aggressive his support can be(it's awfully hard for thresh to hook when there are 10 opposing minions and only 2 of his,and even leona wouldn't want to tank 10 creeps in a prolonged engage). face it,over all the moronic supports nerfs and adc buffs you don't even have early game anymore, you are just "meh" at all points in the game.

I have not seen an ADC go 1v2 bot lane and get himself fed against people his equal or higher skill level. And honestly I don't know why you referred to Dota as I myself haven't played it and don't know how it works, and of course Lucian outtrades a support. Just about any ADC can at level 1. Not to mention Lucian is one of the stronger ADCs. And how aggressive the support is goes with the support's champion playstyle and game-style. Trying not to engage a enemy minion-heavy lane is smart and absolutely ridiculous move unless you have good HP or sustain. Supports early game just standing idly with nothing to do have no purpose, but when the support or the ADC points out or signals a possible trade off chance or double kill for the ADC is when supports shine.

not even slightly,I described what is shown in that the picture perfectly, that is what the picture implies.

The picture implies that if you interpret it that way. What I see is the kill-starved support who obviously has no...dominance or visible importance? So to say as I can't find the right words-feeding the superpower ADC who is your carry and demands attention.

oh so you would sacrifice your kda in order to win? wow,so you are trying to win a game who's purpose is to win,you should get a medal.

No need to be an immature ass. I don't know how things work in your region or experience, but I encounter people who call going 0/15/26 feeding. As the ADC (who the support fed) is knocking down everyone they see with no issue

some more than others, there's a reason you have people fighting over mid constantly, mid has everything handed to them on silver platter: short lane for less jungle interference? check. full solo lane farm? check. optimal position to roam? check. full solo lane exp? check. great utility, damage, and roam potential? check. we really could use some mid lane nerfs(inb4 everyone who mains mid gets mad at the idea).

Mid lane nerfs? Honestly ridiculous coming from someone who supports and tops 90% of the time. They have two areas to watch for a gank, can get top and bot on their asses in no time. Not to mention they can ONLY roam if they win lane. Mid lane is where everything happens but it's a tough lane. To some of the rest to your comment I refer to the support keeping the ADC alive as in the lane phase. After that it's mainly "pray the ADC is careful late game". And the support being the least important guy? Are you crazy? The support is just as if not more important than everyone else in the game. The support is the make or break in League. And the support doesn't avoid kills and farm because "he wants to", he does it SO THE ADC CAN GET IT and get ahead as fast as possible. And EVERYONE is responsible for wards, not just the support. There are gold giving support items because you are supposed to allow the ADC to grab up the gold and get powerful. Items like item 3069 help the support keep up. And the support is not boasting, it is demonstrating how "starved" the support is to make sure the ADC "superpower" is fed. Overall Support is a very important role in League, and apologies but only the ignorant think otherwise.

manbearswine1 votes

Are there assholes who play support? You're damn right there are. However most people including myself see much more asshole ADCs than supports.

not really, somewhat more, but not "much more"

I have not seen an ADC go 1v2 bot lane and get himself fed against people his equal or higher skill level.

Oh,and a support can? Because if you look at the picture it would seem like the support is doing all the job, whereas the adc is just a big baby. just like a support can win the lane(obviously not 2v1 either) so can the carry, and in fact generally has better potential to do so,as often he is stronger from level 1,and has more control over the lane is due to higher dps.

And honestly I don't know why you referred to Dota as I myself haven't played it and don't know how it works,

well,In Dota the carry is much more reliant on the support(as in,the support controls the lane, and definitely has more influence that the carry over it),so this picture would make a bit more sense there.

and of course Lucian outtrades a support. Just about any ADC can at level 1.

say what? why in the fucking hell does the hyper scaling adc, with the infamous lategame scaling should be stronger than the support at level 1? the early game, the point where their base damages are at their highest and them not taking cs has yet to take an effect? it's a fucking atrocity, and your answer to it is "of course"? It's beyond stupid,I could have tolerated it before because adcs were busy getting facerolled by bruisers in the lategame, but now there is no excuse for it,it is just outright retarded.

The picture implies that if you interpret it that way.

Sorry but no,the picture is very obvious,a grown fat man in a suit crying(with the sign adc over him) with a starving man(with the sign support over him) feeding him, they don't both work for that food the "adc" is just sitting there crying, there is no room for interpretation here.

No need to be an immature ass. I don't know how things work in your region or experience, but I encounter people who call going 0/15/26 feeding. As the ADC (who the support fed) is knocking down everyone they see with no issue

people generally call feeding just to insult someone, from my latest games feeding was mostly use for intentional feeders,as a joke,or by flamers(who just rage at everything).

Nope, top and bot will rarely roam mid even under the specific picks which are capable of doing so(feel free to watch competitive play and tell me who roams more often, mid to bot/top or top/bot to mid),you can also roam when behind,it helps being ahead but it's not mandatory, look, take jungle for example(clearly the second if not top influential role) they actually have legitimate issues with people raging at them and dealing with feeding lanes,so it's less contested, mid has everything served to it on a silver platter and some of it should be redistributed to other roles(the game is decided by 10 people after all, loss in influence for mid means influence gained for the rest).

The support is just as if not more important than everyone else in the game.

so why if you can trade your life for somebody else do you do so? support is the least influential role, the least contested role, and one which is made of facerollers(thresh(example) might have complex mechanics, but his decision making is binary and braindead,he is way too forgiving, and so is almost every meta support) and this is coming from a diamond support main.

In one of your previous comments you stated that a Lucian could outtrade a support. And you make it seem like at level one a support is stronger than an ADC? That's ridiculous but of course I could be misinterpreting your comment. So there is that. And just for proof:

"except that the adc has as big a contribution at getting himself fed early game and an even bigger one lategame, this isn't dota, retarded lucian outtrades pretty much any support at level 1(cause fuck logic),on top of generally having more control over how pushed the lane is,which will often decide how aggressive his support can be(it's awfully..."

You make a decent point in most of your other arguments but one thing that bothers me... "diamond support main" I'm not denying you are not a diamond support main, but mentioning your rank makes an argument less serious to me. As a friend of mine only in Silver knows damn well about every role up and down in the game, and another friend of mine is a monster in the game who goes mid more than anything and is a well opponent for everyone he faces. He is also Silver. I don't care what your rank is. I care about what you use to back up an argument. And Thresh being very forgiving? One bad Lantern can cost you a teammfight or the loss of a teammate. The people you play and your playstyle is how your supporting or anything else works. If you believe your rank can justify and make right whatever you have to say, I honestly won't care. I wouldn't give a damn if a Riot employee or someone in Challenger gave me advice or if something worked for them. It doesn't work that way for everyone. You are making reasonable points but one point I honestly can't come to terms with is not how simplified supporting is which I won't lie it's not the hardest thing, but how UNIMPORTANT it is. The way I and many see it, supporting is not the favorite role, true. But it is highly rewarding. And this I know from experience and very...very...close games. And bruisers being a problem? What? Hate to be rude or seem to be rude but I find an Akali more threatening than a bruiser at any point in my career in League. Then again not everyone has the same playstyle, eh?

Really? me being exprienced and good at a role makes my argument less serious?

As a friend of mine only in Silver knows damn well about every role up and down in the game,

why is he silver then?

and another friend of mine is a monster in the game who goes mid more than anything and is a well opponent for everyone he faces. He is also Silver. I don't care what your rank is.

Look,I have friends who are in silver but play like a high diamond,do you know why they are in silver? they just don't play ranked, and I am 110% sure they would reach diamond if they actually played ranked(and some of them has done so in the past).

I care about what you use to back up an argument. And Thresh being very forgiving? One bad Lantern can cost you a teammfight or the loss of a teammate.

what the hell is a bad lantern? what exactly am I supposed to do with which would backfire? thresh is INSANELY forgiving, there's little to argue over that.

I'm not sure what you are talking about, are you denying most meta supports have immense defensive capabilities(most likely on top of immense offensive ones)?

You are making reasonable points but one point I honestly can't come to terms with is not how simplified supporting is which I won't lie it's not the hardest thing, but how UNIMPORTANT it is.

I've never said you are completely worthless, you are somewhere between 1/2-2/3 of a regular team member as far as game influence goes.

The way I and many see it, supporting is not the favorite role, true. But it is highly rewarding. And this I know from experience and very...very...close games.

tbh I find meta supports very unrewarding,as there is very little risk to them, whereas off meta supports can be facerolled by meta ones("oh you did something to thresh?oh wait he is tanky, did something to his ally? oh look get out of jail free card","thresh hit hook on you? well better have some silly trade/tankiness/disengage potential,or you die")

And bruisers being a problem? What?

I was talking about prior to the adc itemization buffs, hence why I said I was fine with their state(of adcs) then, but not now.

Hate to be rude or seem to be rude but I find an Akali more threatening than a bruiser at any point in my career in League. Then again not everyone has the same playstyle, eh?

there are two types of players: 1)those who play akali 2)those who hate akali

BabyDunkin172 votes

I never asked you to use buzzwords to make a severe exaggeration, you seemed to just assume that. If you read my post you would see that all i asked you to do was make this post a little more readable by adding pictures and champion icons to break it up. As it is, its really hard to read your reply's to "Its Not Ogre Now" because of how tedious it is to find any meaning full information in it. (Putting the champion icon in the spots where you currently just have their names [example: such as using JarvanIV, or JarvanIV J4, instead of just saying Jarvin the Fourth] would make it far easier to understand what you are talking about by just skimming over the post) I mean, i love seeing the both of you discussing (if in a hostile way) the importance of various roles in team comps. But really, something else i find deplorable in your posts is how hostile and how "passive aggressive" you are throughout the entire thing marks you out to be a toxic member of the community (and not just these posts, i have been looking at your other ones as well.) I'm just letting you know from experience that this kind of behavior puts you on the radar for the Patented Ban Hammer. So if you know whats good for you, please at least try making your comments a little more... tact, you do not have to totally use the DS Method (if you watch Sky Williams), you just have to play nice. Other than that, you seem to be an intelligent person, and with the fact that you are a diamond support, i would love to perhaps play a game with you (if that we were ever to get on the same elo, lol)

TL;DR: You misunderstood what i asked you to do, your being passive aggressive, and don't be a dick unless you want to be banned. Have a nice day.

I never asked you to use buzzwords to make a severe exaggeration, you seemed to just assume that.

you wanted a tl;dr,that's what a tl;dr is,a bunch of buzzwords and exaggerations,an oversimplified version of the text of wall.

If you read my post you would see that all i asked you to do was make this post a little more readable by adding pictures and champion icons to break it up.

it doesn't make it more readable at all,it just makes it more appealing to lazy people,it doesn't help understanding even slightly.

As it is, its really hard to read your reply's to "Its Not Ogre Now" because of how tedious it is to find any meaning full information in it.

It's tedious because it's long, making it shorter would make it contain less information, there are some unfortunate repetitions, but that's to make sure he didn't feel like i skipped any part of his post.

i love seeing the both of you discussing (if in a hostile way) the importance of various roles in team comps. But really, something else i find deplorable in your posts is how hostile and how "passive aggressive" you are throughout the entire thing marks you out to be a toxic member of the community (and not just these posts, i have been looking at your other ones as well.)

hah,if you think I'm toxic, you should see what the majority of the lol community has to offer.

I'm just letting you know from experience that this kind of behavior puts you on the radar for the Patented Ban Hammer.

Maybe a forum ban, couldn't be bothered about that.

So if you know whats good for you, please at least try making your comments a little more... tact, you do not have to totally use the DS Method (if you watch Sky Williams), you just have to play nice.

That method is questionable, not on the grounds that it might not work(it definetly does),but is that really how you want to win games? take it a step further, trash talking can also definetly help you win,and if you do it carefully you can avoid being banned, but is that really how you want to win games?

Other than that, you seem to be an intelligent person, and with the fact that you are a diamond support, i would love to perhaps play a game with you (if that we were ever to get on the same elo, lol)

servers would also appear to be an issue.

TL;DR: You misunderstood what i asked you to do, your being passive aggressive, and don't be a dick unless you want to be banned. Have a nice day.

You underestimate this community, people love saying "you'll get banned this, you'll get banned that",but in the end of the day before you ban me you'll have to go through ~80% of the playerbase(that is if you go by some method, instead of expecting rioters to crucify people who annoy someone on the forums),and that just seems unlikely to me.

BabyDunkin172 votes

At least your sounding less hostile this post, But my point still stands. Dont be a dick, and make your points more accessible to " lazy people" as you put it. That was really all i wanted you to do. Other than the wall of text part, which you reasoned was needed to keep the completion of the information you are getting across, you seem to be doing really well not being so insufferable in the forums.

(p.s. i never once called you toxic)

everyone on GD understands the white knight concept, but every single one, fail to see how a support could possibly have an ego.

Angry Monster5 votes

this is in memes and games.... Its meant to have fun with.

This literally addresses support feelings since season 2.

OreoRampage1 votes

I don't know, the only way I feel like this applies for me is if I can't get along with my ADC. If we're making good plays then we're both benefiting. And with certain items and mastery builds, you can still earn decent gold.

UPfreely12 votes

Here let me pull some data to help you understand why supports feel this way.

Your last support game: http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/1565485756/42409479 Mine: http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/1613535703/202279377

Now lets compare gold income. (ignoring the afks) You: 7.4k Your other teamates: 10.0k you're down 2.5k gold or they generated about 35% more gold than you.

Mine: me: 12.2k teammates: 14.8k-19.3k i'm down 4.6-7.1k gold or they generated about 21-58% more gold than me.

Now if our data isn't reliable enough lets look at people who know how to play this game. http://na.lolesports.com/worlds/2014/worlds-2014/matches/finals/samsung-white-vs-star-horn-royal-club

Mata: 7128 His teamates: 9507-12507 His teamates generated about 33-75% more gold than him. Royals gold distribution is very similar.

So we generate about 30% less gold unless our teamates are fed, then we generate even less in comparison. It's always an uphill battle for us. We're always underfed, and we're always expected to do the most with the least.

Sometimes I just yearn for an equality movement, especially with riots enforcement of the adc/support role. /end rant

OreoRampage1 votes

Well the statistics put it into perspective a bit more, so kudos for that. I guess an addition to a support's frustration is that they aren't expected to obtain kills, only assists. Perhaps Riot could make an adjustment to the amount of gold a sport earnsfrom an assist.

GG Beers1 votes

Support is also hands down the easiest roll to play. A main mid/top/jungle can easily play support, a main support can't say the same and most support mains admit they can't play any other lane.

The only support that takes any mechanical skill is thresh.

Angry Monster1 votes

How is a cartoon about a starving Support giving everything he has to the ADC, have anything to do with getting along?

I hate most of my ADCs(even when not supporting). Liking them and doing the job are different things.

OreoRampage1 votes

It has everything to do with it if I don't agree with the sentiment of the illustration.

Talidus1 votes

Im pretty sure the ADC does more work than the support, its the other way around IMO. Perspective is everything...

while this was meant to be a joke i think riot should add something to make supports equal to the rest of the team…since like in your picture they are always underfed and underleveled

I liked it better in season 2, supporting had a well stablished purpose and you could carry a whole team just by having good ward placement.

Season 3 and 4 is just a crying circlejerk.
