maybe even optimal?

consider this!

maxing E first and rushing the new warmogs o_O

maintaining maxed E's max stacks with the massive passive regen you:

do more damage, heal faster, have higher base health.

downside?????????????????????????????????

edit:

to all the haters who obviously haven't tried this.

u gotta feel that godlike level 9 warmogs +e passive

+30 +30 +30 +30 +30 +30 +30 +30

to understand

Really low damage, as his hp to AP part is abysmal. You maxed E first, so you have really crappy sustain, hurt yourself, and will literally kill yourself against anyone who builds resistances. Due to warmogs getting good regen only when you haven't taken damage, your strategy would rely on the opposing laner being to scared of vlad to ever hit him (...which is not going to happen. Ever).

you actually have way more damage level 9 doing it this way, and thats usually about the time of the game where you have the chance to snowball into oblivion. if you lose trades too hard you can go back to your turret and maintain your stacks while abusing warmogs passive. takes about 10-20 seconds to get back in the fight

why would you build a warmog when you can get 4300 hp with just ap items, spirit visage and boots?

maikokk1 votes

simple. warmogs + 4 stacks max e heals you faster than high AP maxxed qs do

EffectFX1 votes

Hmm doubtful. 4 stacks of E also increases healing from spell vamp, with 40% cdr from wota, spirit visage, masteries/runes, vlad gains a MASSIVE amount of sustain. Start throwing in AP and then you start healing for pretty significant amounts.

Keeping in mind Warmog's passive only activates outside of combat.

how do you figure that you can afford wota AND spirit visage by level 9?

i build both of these items later on when maxxing my q. im talking about that early mid game power spike bro

also there is a difference between "in combat" and "taking damage"

if you cast your e you do not reset warmogs passsive

EffectFX1 votes

By being awesome and never missing a last hit, on top of constantly killing my opponent.

You don't get a power spike, you just become moderately difficult to kill.

My bad, misread, it, still it's a meh early item that's only good if you want to avoid being bursted.

Yes I have done it before. You're far from the first person to do tank vlad.

maikokk1 votes

ive done it before too, and it sucked. the new warmogs makes it worth

maikokk1 votes

its not just about avoiding being bursted, its about doing more damage. maxxing your E by level 9 because you have warmogs gives you way more damage than building AP for your maxxed q... and now u dont kill yourself doing it because you can regen like garen

Actually I always had pretty decent success with tank vlad. With only 250 AP I would have around 5k HP and still be able to 100-0 enemy carries while being exceptionally difficult to kill.

You're also doing significant damage to your own health and anyone who builds early MR is basically going to ignore your damage in the first place. You also weaken your early game by a significant amount up until the point where you can actually purchase warmogs.

It's fine as a defensive item once completed but you lose out on other item choices that would arguably be more useful (Zhonyas, Rylais, Wota)

when they stak MR my second item is void staff and i do just fine. i always build rylias and wota and dont consider zhonyas to be a very useful item as id rather be focused in a teamfight than avoid damage. this helps you blend with your team comp better as a toplaner

example build VS AP heavy team:

warmogs> sorc shoes> spirit visage> rylias> WOTA>........ deathcap/voidstaff/GA situational

And then they build a liandrys.

So uh. How are you going to survive til 9 against any remotely competent top laner? And how will you survive past that due to meh sustain?

maikokk1 votes

warmogs has 2 600$ cost tier 2 items that you can buy on your first b. you 2 shot minion waves so you have the option of pushing lane to their tower or hiding under yours.

the post warmogs sustain is anything but meh
