He's not.
He hasn't been an early game jungler for over a year.
His early game damage is mediocre at best, even with ignite. His clear, while exceptionally safe and healthy, is below average pre-Tiamat. His ganks are below average until he gets at least 3 points in Q. His early game presence is a shadow of what it used to be. Stop living in the past already.

Most Junglers aren't going to win against a Challenging Smite Shaco with Ignite and Red Buff when he hits level three, especially if he baits them into a Boxed bush, as he should. I'm only mid-Silver, and I'm not that good of a player, so I sincerely apologize if I'm wrong, but I've seen pretty terrible players do really well with Shaco after a bit of instruction.

Since when does Shaco have Challenging Smite when he hits level 3?
Also this has nothing to do with whether Shaco is an early game jungler or not. Compared to nearly every other jungler, his early game presence is subpar. His ganks are weak, his clears are slow, and his damage is mediocre until he gets 2-3 items completed.

but i certainly understand the feeling of people calling your champ an "early game jungler" when they flat out aren't.
my own main 
although in season 5-6 had one of the fastest clears in the game. since season 7 has a very dangerous clear that isn't even any faster than a champion like 
who can do the same clear with no pots and more hp. (i should know.. they are my two junglers)
so i know how you feel when people say things like this
trunoob4131 votesYup still feels bad having to put multiple points into q which has crap for scaling other than invisible duration which is required to even be able to get next to an enemy champion meanwhile losing out and all that e damage which you really need to secure kills :(

He's only really good at one thing and that's assassinating people and everyone complains about that and he needs items/ to be fed to even do that well. I understand no one wants to be killed instantly in the game from someone who just showed up next to them instantly but thats literally all he can do lol.
