He means to say that a slow in Kalista's kit is really bad design.

To be fair, none of those champions can move while auto attacking.

Much better. The thing with Kalista is she's extremely squishy and reliant on stacking her Rend (especially after the attack damage nerfs) to do a lot of damage in fights. If she can't stack or Rend or, worse, makes even a single misclick and jumps forward instead of backwards, she's as good as dead.

None of those champions have nearly as much mobility as Kalista does.

Riot explained why they gave it a slow:

"I believe CertainlyT put the slow on there to create tension over the decision of when to push Rend. It asks Kalista players, "Do you rend now for the guaranteed utility or do you hold onto it for future Tons-of-Damage.tm but risk your target escaping or catching you/an ally?" "

Personally I don't think that's a good enough reason to give that type of champion even more sticking power.

Champions should only be allowed to auto attack for direct damage. Remove unique skills and abilities please.

I think he means that Kalista's slow is too strong when it is sufficient and "balanced" that she has her Martial Poise and every other CC she can get her hands on. Just not the CC she gets from Rend.

I get what you're getting at and I agree. Take away the slow from Kalista's kit and let her have her increased leap range from leaping away back. She doesn't need a slow once she gets enough attack speed.
