My Rad Frontline Trondomore Build

AS marks/quints, 1 Lifesteal quint optional; flat armor seals; MR per level glyphs Warlord's Bloodlust Start: item 1029 item 1006 item 2003 Lane Dependent: item 2053 / item 3082 / item 1053 Core: item 3006 -> item 1055 -> item 3031 vs. multiple tanks: item 3035 Mid/Lategame: item 3812 -> item 3065 -> item 3026 / item 3033 Last Item: item 3742 / item 3143

Tryn has great base hp, an AoE debuff/potential 4 second 60% slow and Undying Rage - that takes him halfway to being a solid frontline. The other half is in this build: extra armor so he can actually take hits, IE, Greaves and a big Lifesteal item so he's a real threat and makes use of Warlord's Bloodlust, and finally Spirit Visage so that he becomes very tough to deal with. The armor item is essential because you're trying to be tanky as opposed to trying to wipe the enemy team which at least 2 other people on your team are often trying to do themselves and would then be wanting wanting a good tank to get them rolling - better yet a tank that might not die in battle.

I like taking Death's Dance as the Lifesteal item since it makes ulting at the last second extremely easy thanks to the 30% damage delay; this also delays when Grievous Wounds will affect you from the likes of Morellonomicon which is really nice. Also the CDR is nice. Ravenous Hydra isn't a bad pick here at all, though; it certainly helps with pushing although you'll get to a point where your E will clear most of the wave. If you're way behind this build won't work, so take breaks from being with your team and push lanes.

The level 1 start is extremely conservative; it has one bad matchup in Teemo which is where you should probably scrap this build and take Ignite instead. It's basically trying to get away with starting with a good armor item early and to at least help make up for Tryn's lack of natural armor later on. Everything about it is greedy but it can be pulled off thanks to Teleport and Tryn's healing and regen. Don't push recklessly; ward really, really often so you don't get ganked. The more time you keep the enemy jungler busy the better for your team. The earlier you feed him the worse it is for your team!

Lategame you're a team player in that no one wants to commit all the damage and CC it takes to kill you and yet no one wants to get hit by you either, generally speaking. Flash can help with some clutch kills or W slows on running enemies but Ghost is fine too since Tryn can already traverse walls with Spinning Slash and can definitely get creep blocked. Elixir of Iron once you've finished most of your build is definitely worth considering since the CC reduction can be very impactful and the extra health is very sweet. Last Whisper is a must against teams with multiple dedicated tanks or a Rammus; replace GA with Mortal Reminder if you need it.

Best of luck if you try this out! If you already have a tank, don't build this - just build the usual Trondo build and get your freelo lol. You know, Shiv, BORK and whatnot.

Ok, ok, let's admit for a moment that it's not a terrible idea and that it may work. But the question is: why? Why go through all that trouble? If that's the playstyle you want to play, any Juggernaut is much better suited to play that way. Illaoi, Darius, Garen, Olaf, Nasus, Mundo, they are all better than Trynda in the situation you describe, and I must be forgetting a dozen other champs.

About the build itself though, I'm not a fan. You lack splitpush power, which you can get with item 3087 or item 3074 . In the optic of a tanky build, I'd probably go item 3087 more than item 3031 . I might consider item 3124 if you're going for not a lot of offensive items. Relying on just item 3006 item 3031 for damage is kinda weak tbh. item 3812 is quite interesting on Tryn however. But since it's pure AD and gives no real defensive stats, just in general strong against burst, I'm not sure the synergy with a tanky build is that interesting. Or since it's lifesteal, maybe you want a high resistance build. I would be actually quite interested by sthg like item 3006 item 3087 item 3031 item 3812 item 3512 item 3193 , for the really high resistances provided. Especially since item 3035 item 3071 nerfs. Or item 3143 item 3065 .

But I think that it is stronger to go triple off item + double def item than to go double off item + triple def item, if you want a bruiser build. I find myself more often that not go into greedier builds and compensate the lack of tankiness with scaling armor yellows/ scaling mr + scaling CDR blues (for the cdr i take one quint and 3 blues of scaling to have +10% cdr, it comes very handy lategame for E CD).

But if you absolutely want only 2 off items, I would probably suggest item 3124 item 3087 . Rageblade exploits the fact that you take time to die to become a monster, and statikk simply offers insane utility, with movespeed, critchance implying E's much more often and waveclear

Oh and finally. Fervour all the way. If you're a tank you want something that increases your damage the longer you're in a fight and fervour is insanely powerful at doing that. You don't have as much AD as a high AD build so warlords.. meh.

Shiv does give Tryn both great splitpush power and burst. What it doesn't give him is solid dps and a form of sustain to make further use of resistances bought on him. PD doesn't either; it just makes him better at dueling which matters much less during teamfights - that's why the typical Jax build is bad this season in particular. IE gives him really strong dps - particularly if you manage your Fury - and Hydra / Death's Dance plus SV means that the enemy team needs to spend resources and/or focus if they even want to force you to use Undying Rage. Not to say Shiv is ever bad on Tryn, but the high AD lets Tryn get away with not having it via Spinning Slash which has a really wide arc.

Warlord's crits heal you for over 300 once you have Visage which is fantastic. It also gives you a MS boost to help stick to targets - that's actually the primary reason why I like it here. I think Fervor has a place in a different silly tanky Tryn build though.
