Which lane would you guys say Urgot works best in?

I just bought Urgot and wanted to try him out. I usually refer to lolking as to where a champion should be taken, but I've seen people say that Urgot isn't actually good at being an ADC, which lolking says his meta position is. Also, most of his guides on there are just 'general' instead of a specific position.

Where do you guys think that he works best?

I haven't seen one in forever but last I recall he was played top lane as an AD bruiser

Probably mid, but he is pretty bad so it's a tough call...

Top/Mid

I still like him as a counter to assassins in mid lane, but he's really difficult to make work in a team.

he can be played anywhere, really.

I've done him top, mid, adc and jungle all with shitty games and hard carries. But I suppose top and mid would be his best. Although mid may be more of a counterpick. If the laner is melee, he will have a better time.

Urgot lanes best against AD champions due to itemization but I'd say don't worry too much about what he's "best" at because people are convinced he's shit no matter what, so if you work hard enough you can make him work anywhere.

Sometimes I will play him adc just so I can have an excuse to not build any defense what so ever, full ad/arpen Urgot is scary AF xD

The reason bot lane is seen as his worst role is because he is not an auto attacker. You should never buy infinity edge or attack speed on him, all his damage comes from Q with the occasional auto here and there

Midlane as a pick against Assassins, and Toplane as a pick against Assassins. Basically, pick him against Assassins.

He can handle any role, even support... he's just not GREAT at it.

Ironically enough Urgot works well in any position except ADC. I prefer him Top because he usually has a range advantage there. But I also have played him Support in an all AD team (BC E removes most of the enemy armor)

Urgot is the truest interpretation of the term "Tank" I have ever seen in a game (sturdy with artillery and sidegun) and that's how I play him. Soften them up from a distance then break the lines.

My favourite build is this one: item 3042 item 3025 item 3071 item 3156 item 3053

Thanks for the input!

So, for instance, if the enemy midlaner picks Zed (keep in mind I'm at bronze elo, most Zeds down here aren't very good) Urgot wouldn't be a bad pick? Obviously there would be better counter-picks I imagine, but say for example it's norms. Good or nah?

In my opinion he functions best in Top, but is decent in Mid. He's utterly brutal to melee tops that have to get in close, and he can easily out maneuver them. The main thing about Urgot is that your lane phase is strong, so you want to take advantage of it (although I think he's strong all stages of the game, but that's just me).

He's good mid as well, but it's a bit easier to counter him there with range.

as an Urgot main i know for a fact he smashes all melee or squishes so if your midlaner wants to trade top against fizz you should say yes

although something i learned the hard way is that his sustained damage (Q) is much greater than other champs auto attacks and bursts after some time and if you use him to the best of your abilities you will destroy your lane opponent Urgot

any questions just ask <3

Top or Mid.

You want him mid preferably.

Squishies who need to be bullied and put of lane. That is your lane.
