[Champion Concept] Gregory : The Prince of Mischief (WITH ART)

Space Bum··7 votes·5,070 views

Origin: The Void

Passive - Lingering Wilds - After remaining in a bush for 4 seconds without granting vision to enemies, Gregory will become stealthed for 2 seconds when exiting the bush. (this passive would also allow you to check for wards, if your passive does not proc = warded)

Q - Pin Cushion - Gregory Releases a blast of quills from his body dealing physical damage and a % of damage is returned as life. (His quills would appear to extend then retract)

w - Boo! - Gregory leaps to an enemy champion. If the target enemy did not have vision on Gregory when this ability was activated they become feared.

E - Lonesome Shrub - Gregory summons a rectangular bush of void grass. (the animation would look something like nocturnes duskbringer only it would be a growing bush)

R - Parasite - Gregory hops on the back of an enemy champion disabling all of their abilities and causing them to run erratically in circles all the while pounding on the back of their head dealing physical damage.

Other issue with his void origin... he has no exoskeleton. All of the void champs have exoskeletons because of the extremely harsh environment of the Void and because thats the theme riot has stuck with for Void champs. There are probably ways you could pull off a similar look while giving him an exoskeleton but there is more than one way to involve Gregory with the void.

I really want you to stick to his mammal features and would recommend moving his origin to Plague jungle. His kit and abilities read more like a denizen of the jungle anyways. There is more than one way to tie champions to the Void than having to come from there. Maybe you could spread some light on just what is causing all of the magical storms in the Plague Jungle... hint portals to the void he falls into/ was exposed to? Could help explain why he is growing spines as well.

As for his abilities, I really like most of them. With how much Gregory revolves around brush I kind of feel like he should get some kind of bonus damage while fighting in them. Maybe make that a bonus passive effect on his E? Id also have Boo! deal some kind of damage effect when coming out of brush, but that is just me. The only other thing I am not sold on is his ult. Rather than make them run in circles why not apply a slow for the duration, it maintains a similar sort of premise that the target is struggling to get him off which you are going for it seems. Since you would end up removing the suppress element you could make Gregory untargetable for the duration as well. Which makes some sense since if teammates were to attack Gregory while he is on an opponents back/head it would end up hitting their ally. Otherwise this would just be another Warwick ult and its never good to repeat an ult.

Good feedback. Will probably outright Copy some of it when I do an updated post this weekend. Need to get my tablet working and reinstall Photoshop so i can make some proper concept art.

Use whatever you like! I'm just trying to help give you ideas.

I am thinking maybe the Ult should increase the enemy's movement speed and have them run in the direction they where facing when it was activated.

Could add more skill in the timing of the ult and normally in a fight the enemy should be facing the direction they would probably not want to ghost into.

hmmm i like the idea, but increasing a targets move speed would mean the duration would be incredibly short. A thought that had crossed my mind yesterday was to take control of a targets movement, not their abilities or attacks but just their movement at a reduced speed. You wouldn't be able to get away with being untargetable anymore though.

Well, if he's from the void, he needs a "'" in his name. (Kog'maw, Kha'Zix, Cho'Gath, Vel'Koz...)

I think that adds to his charm

Question: where can i get a psycho little chimp like this for myself? SO ADORBS.

Umm what about Malzahar?

BlackestEyes2 votes

Malzahar isn't from the void, he is from Runeterra. Kassadin is as well, both are humans who had a run in with the void.

"a run in" ;)

"a run in" ;)

OK. Maybe that is putting it mildly. >.> But still. Humans, not void creatures.

  • I LOVE his passive and w interaction.
  • I assume his e is basically for giving him access to his passive on demand?
  • I feel like his R is too similar to WW's.

My only real problem with him is, from his picture, he doesn't look like much of a tank, but I feel like that would be the best way to build him with this skillset. Could you talk about what you see his identity being?

Space Bum1 votes

I see him as a jungler. He has sustain, a gap closer, and cc.

E can be just for passive or a fast juke because you might not stay in there long enough to proc the passive. I can't tell you how many times just stepping into a bush a the right second has saved me.

It is a little similar to WW's but Gregory and the target are moving. I had thought about adding something like "CC effects and 20% of damage dealt to Gregory are transferred to the targeted enemy" but that may be a little much

What about this, then?

R - Parasite - Gregory hops on the back of an enemy champion disabling all of their abilities and causing them to be feared away from his initial position, all the while pounding on the back of their head dealing physical damage.

The reason for this change is his current ult sounds too much like the old fear, where randomness determines if you live or die. With the new ult, there's some skill to it (which direction do you jump from - can you get behind them to run the enemy adc into your team?), and more uses for it (ult an enemy tank, or jax or trynd or something, to drive them away from your backline).
