Doublelift VS Froggen (explained)

So as many of you saw the insane win for doublelift. On game 2 of Bo3 vs froggen. This game would have won the Bo3 for doublelift. Riot called a rematch and doublelift agreed to it. But this was actually a legitimate win by doublelift! As we know, the snowball deals damage which should stop the recall animation for doubleift right!? Well NO!! not exactly! In the recall animation you are able to take damage for the lat 0.5 seconds of the recall WITHOUT canceling the recal. That is what we saw there! we saw froggen hit doublelift with the snowball in that 0.5 window! He then activated the second part of the snowball while doublelift was actually going to base! This is a legitimate win and was such a crazy strike of luck but this was not a game glitch! What a crazy game!

First one was stupid but the second it was dumb by Froggen imo. Should have accepted his loss even though it is retarded to lose because of that but it definitely was his own fault that time.

To be clear, the players are calling for a rematch, not Riot. The players have the ability to request a rematch and if the other player agrees, they play again.

That was painful to watch it happen twice. I thought he'd be more wary of the snowball timing, but maybe it was just instinctive to follow up with the dash.

EU such salty babies... A win is a win is a win.. The second time it was especially clear Froggen would be suiciding if he reactivated the snowball and he still did. Just a way for him to reset the CS again...

It doesn't really matter that it wasn't a glitch, it isn't the way you want to win/lose a 1v1. It's anti-catarthic, and I understand that Doublelift wanted to win on his own merits, rather than because of a quirky interaction in the game. I'm glad he did.

1st time, shame on the recall issue... 2nd time, shame on Froggen for allowing the issue to happen.

i.e. stop taking the snowball right away w/o seeing if LiftLift actually recalled or not.

Didnt Riot even confirm that if you recall in a recent change that there is a point to where a recall cannot be interrupted by damage?

EDIT: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/V5.12 Less recent than I thought, but check this out.

Grace period at the end of recall normalized to 0.1 seconds from a random amount between 0 and 0.25 seconds.

well seemed unfair

the 2nd one was obviously damage taken by doublelift BEFORE 0,5 recall. this is just bugged

Frogged didn't have vision of DL on the second time though. I don't believe snowballs give vision. But it's insane

Just happened again. So troll

Actually, taken directly off the Wiki:

It is possible to be damaged while recalling, but still return to base. This happens if the damage is taken within 0.1s before the channel completes.

There was no way Froggen could've landed the snowball at exactly 0.1s before Doublelift backed both times.

do on purpose from froggen, he just want to have fun

It's probably because you don't have recall on arams, they probably haven't properly coded them to interact with recalls.
