DoubleLift taking a break in 2017 Spring

People are saying Gosu is going to come in as TSM sub ADC but I doubt it

He's only streaming for the TSM brand and nothing more, I remember Reginal post or said something about just finding people to help stream or promote whatever with their brand so you can say that what Gosu is doing is promoting or playing for the TSM brand

But I mean who know, maybe he will play professionally once.

I mean why take a break in the Spring tho? It doesn't make sense to me.

Why not? After all the work and practice just to get shit on at worlds has to be pretty demoralizing. Probably just needs a break after so many years.

As far as the replacement goes, I believe they said that they will be having tryouts later this month to fill the position and DoubleLift will help during those tryouts to find a suitable replacement and/or perhaps coach the replacement a bit to give them a general idea of how the team operates.

As for why he's doing this, he wants a break and probably wants to explore some of the options he'll have after he does actually retire to see what he actually wants to do.

Immortals went 17-1 in the Spring Split, finished #1, TSM went 9-9 and finished #6. In the playoffs, TSM beat Immortals in the semifinals and Immortals didn't make Worlds. Cloud 9 ended Spring in 3rd, got knocked out in the Quarterfinals (a full round earlier than Immortals) and did make Worlds. If you win the Spring playoffs (only need to make top 6 to get into the playoffs) you're in a good position (but not automatic) to go to Worlds, anything else and your odds aren't really any better than anyone else playing in the summer. So yeah, I can see why someone would say "why bother?" with the Spring split. Really, I'd say that's something Riot really needs to look into addressing right now or else I wouldn't be surprised to see more players do it. Heck, I can see it being more like the World Cup where a bunch of teams play either their rookies or else some "potentials" rather than their stars in the Spring, because the results don't matter much and it can be a good chance to give reps to up&coming talent.
