How does a Tie work for EU?

The only way I think you can have a tie in League is when it's a best-of-two and each team wins one game, which I believe will be possible in the EU LCS Summer Split. Could that answer your question?
They play two games against one team. If one team wins one game, and the other team wins the other game, it's a tie.
I had the same question a few months ago when they first came out with this tie rules, I didn't understand it either. I understand it now but who want's to see ties when you can have a WINNER instead???
Ok I understand if G2 beat OG 2-0 so they standing is G2 1-0-0 and OG 0-1-0 but when they also add in this point system its just more confusing to understand.
